To continue with the "Friday Something" series...
Tell us all something about you we may not know.
Preferably something that isn't music-related.
I'm a huge fan of the game of baseball. Big fan of MLB.
Played through school all the way to the high school level.
Would've played in College, but opted not to go to Wichita State.
One of the best college baseball programs in the country.

^^^I have a similar story, on only smoking weed is what made my baseball career go downhill. I did however go to a pitching camp at Wichita State one year.

i played baseball throughout my youth. I was always on a little league team and was on the RBI team that played over there at Satchel Paige field on Swope and Brush Creek.
I played until high-school junior year when i learned that i had a better eye for blurry photographs than for hitting.
haha

All this talk about baseball! I hate baseball! Actually just playing it. I was next up at bat one time...and long story short, a baseball bat flew through the air and made nice contact with my forehead...it was so swollen, [i:7adc36d83c]it[/i:7adc36d83c] was the size of the baseball. that really sucked. I like watching baseball though...you know what, I'm actually very accident prone.
I love collecting comic books. At one point in time I wanted to be an illustrator for Marvel. Next year I'm going to KCAI and I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to be taking up. I can't decide between print-making, graphic design, photography (still really crappy at it), or fibers. Good thing that have that foundations program...
- Mar 17, 2006 09:28pm by Lucidialect
I got eigth place in the World Odyssey of the Mind competition in eighth grade. Ionno if anyone out here even knows what that is.
I played trombone for nine years symphonic, four jazz, and two years marching baritone. We took all the state competitions in Colorado, and came fifth in the nation for marching.
I swam for eight years competitively, and was so sick of morning practices by the time I finished high school that I stopped cold turkey.
And I sucked at baseball...I think I got a base hit, mmm, once.

I also played baseball four years & its also my favorite sport. In fact, my stage name came from two players that held the record for the most consecutive games played in sports history (Cal Ripken, Lou Gehrig). To me their hard work & dedication was a testament to their consistency & longevity, which is what I also hope 2 accomplish.... hence the name Lou Rip!!

Something funny.
I was a hostess in a very posh restauraunt in South Florida for a number of years. I was eighteen at the time and Martin Scorsazie(spelling?) called to get a table. I said we didn't have any tables and that we were completely booked for the night. He kept dropping his name telling me who he was and he wanted a table. Believe this - I had no idea who he was, and did everything but tell him to eat shit. Finaly, after some back and forth buisness he got me to ask my boss who he was. She flipped out and offered him a private dinning room. He ended up going to a fancy french restauraunt in Boca Raton, because I was such a little shithead.

I was adopted at an early age (financial reasons), but was still able to have a relationship with my biological parents. My adopted parents are white. It really showed me how to love everyone equally and to not see colors or flaws in others, but instead find stong points.
The funniest story my adopted mother told me was, "When you were real little we went to the blue ridge mall at christmas time and walked by a Topsys Popcorn. You got all excited and started freakin out. As we were tryin to distract you from popcorn and leave the mall an older black couple noticed us leading you out of the mall and followed us all the way outside and eventually called the police. All we could do was laugh with them about it afterward." They ended up being good friends. LOL

I ran track for four years at HMHS. I ran 200, 400 and hurdles. The last two years I was hurt so that pretty much stifled my career. My last year I ran at all the meets but [b:4d2ac4c670]never practiced[/b:4d2ac4c670] because thats how bad my ankles were. So I pretty much ran off speed. I never got a chance to run at state though(of course not) but I did come in 5th at sectionals in the 300IH I think.
