Hearts of Darkness to play at Davey's Uptown Ramblers Club on Saturday, June 5.
Kansas City's reknown 18-peice afrobeat/hip-hop/funk phenomenon, Hearts of Darkness, will play at Davey's Uptown Ramblers Club (3402 Main Street) on Saturday, June 5. Opening the show will be Deejay Platinum. Doors open at 9:00pm. $10.00 advanced tickets are available at Davey's and on ticketmaster.com, and the cover charge on the day of show is $12.00.
After disappearing into the studio for four months following a tremendous performance on Mardi Gras at the historic Mutual Musicans Foundation, the Hearts finally returns to the stage to introduce new members, show off half a dozen new songs and to a offer a preview of the record release show scheduled in July.
Hearts of Darkness adds 60's American funk and soul, hip-hop and even Kansas City jazz big-band traditions into an afrobeat-based foundation to create the undeniably huge sound considered one of the best live acts in town.
