Topic: WIGGITY WHACK!

    Well....i went to the open mic nite at news room tonite. And it sucked honestly! like i meet sum kool ppls and cyphered wit sum folks or watever. but its like, why hav an open mic if u gotta wait for sumbody?! like thats stoopid imo! The DJ told me it would start at like 11:30 or 12 and it was 12:30 when he told me!!!!!!! but i was jus like...ok. maybe hes jus behind on sumthin.... so then 1am hits. i asked him y aint it start yet. he said that it usually starts once dutch newman shows up! i was like wtf...its open mic!!! y r we waitin for an mc when its already mcs there?! so i waited til 130 and bounced. NOW nutin against dutchie or the dj or watnot. but thats jus whack! get it together...

    I've got no patience for that shit. I can't do open mics anymore, much for this reason. Aside from waiting through the no-talent mumble mouths for a turn to spit, to have to wait until everyone else has vacated the bar before you even get queued up is bullshit.

    I didn't realize E's night incorporated an open mic. Not sure I understand though... Does Dutch host the open mic? Is that why you were waiting?

    it opens up whenever they want to open it up. sometimes it doesn't even open (like last night). it's not delgated to whenever he shows up. there's no official open mic rulebook. but that's too bad you didn't enjoy yourself, come again sometime.

    This is EmC.... Look.. Abnorm how old are you? 17 or 18... Your not even old enough to be at the venue lil homie. we change what we do every week depending on what it is and the feel. My bad last thursday you came up during No Request No open mic night. Due to the fact that we had a overly saturated fill of WACK MF's trying hop on MY Mics.. So much that even seasoned vets wanted to slap taste out peoples mouths. So before you judge, please turn 21, Deal wit it, and understand this the week after St.pat's one of the busiest holidays for bars in westport for a while.. oh wait I forgot your not 21 kiddo. Anyways the Mic will be open next week. As for waitin for Dutch... I just said that so you would stop bothering me.

    That's pretty harsh E. I told you straight up that the kids are going to get your night SHUT DOWN! Mad people consider the evening to be an open mic night. You have to be 100 percent as to not confuse people to what's going on. Granted, I've had a blast the times I've been there. That night truly sticks out as something different from everywhere else. The music is diverse, the crowd is as well and the vibe is just right. Abnorm, I think that an open mic night would be a welcome addition to the area. Dope, wack or whatever. My question to you is; What are you looking for? What would make this appealing to others? How could it be fresh? Age limit and etc.? It could go down! Let me know. -Vrt
