Topic: I don't like twitter....
- Mar 14, 2009 03:24am by DR.T - nuts .. haha Location: KCMO
I tried to like it, but I just can't get into it for some reason. Because people have to already know who you are, just for you to talk to them.... I can't just send a message to someone random? Maybe Myspace and Facebook got me spoiled on all the bells and whistles of internet blogging. But for twitter it's like the only things you can do is talk to people you already know and tell people what your doing at the moment...
Might as well just stay on Facebook, and Myspace where you can do that plus more.
I don't see the point of really having one ... but i'll keep mine just to fit in....
I guess it work for people who have mobile devices that work with it, but other then that if you're at your desktop, it's kind of ... bleh.

This shit is [b:9ee5fdf53f]so lame[/b:9ee5fdf53f] its just a bunch of djs/producers giving their stream of conscious out the the public.
For real I don't give a fuck what most people's day to day activities are, unless its something like Diplo eating burritos and riding a moped with Rick Rubin, then I just don't care. The only person I am that actually interested in knowing what they did everyday is my wife.

it depends on who you follow.
Twitter can be what you want.
you get what you ask for really.
if you follow your homies you'll keep up with them.
i follow people who post new music, shoe updates and photos...cool stuff to check out now and then.
But i do admit that saying "goodnight" to your "tweets" and tweeting about brushing your teeth is a lil much
haha

the last thing anyone needs right now is a way to stay "more" connected.
when are people going to start disconnecting a little bit?
the only logical step after twitter is a chip in your head that automatically updates your friends and subscribers based on your latest thoughts.
i'm moving out to the country.

I like it. Myspace is a promotion tool and facebook is a personal blog for your high school buddies to try to re-friend you. Twitter is simple. No uploading, no downloading, no hey come listen to my shitty music I made on fruity loops the program that I've pirated for my entire shitty 9th grade class. No diss on the software users, but we all know that shit's out of control...

sike and jd are right...you make it what you want. the people who post dumb shit that you've been following...click a button and they are gone. you see someone post some shit that's entertaining...click a button and you follow them. it's all the same shit people say and do with their status updates and bulletins on facebook and myspace just without all the garbage of maintaining a full profile. and don't tell me that shit is no big deal because updating a full profile (some of us...multiple profiles) is so fucking tedious and dumb. send out a tweet of 140 characters or a link to a flyer and you're done. twitter has basically simplified and streamlined the whole way of staying connected.
so hate on it all you want. i honestly feel that people hate it because they don't get it. prime example...i asked for a recommendation last sunday of something fun to do with my daughter and got hooked up with the BEST idea in a matter of minutes. shit is handy and fun on so many levels. seriously...y'all sound like all the folks i went to music biz school with that hated on napster when it came out. shit changes and sometimes for the better. it's just how the cycle works ya know?

Hater? I like the sounds of that ....
But for real, unless you got a 200 dollar phone that conveniently checks twitter updates where ever you are ... it's lame.
ie: If i have Phonte's myspace, facebook, blogspot, and I get email updates from his website .... it seems asinine to follow him on twitter, which only limits you to what 140 characters anyways. And if i care about him as an artist I should feel obligated to follow him elsewhere on more legitimate sources.
It's kinda like getting on Google Maps to go over your cousin's house who live like ten minutes away .... it's just a trendy, hi-tek way to do something when you can already do it more effectively by other means.

I think its dope! You get access to a variety of info all in one spot instead of going to different sites & searching for it. Its definatley easier to get your stuff out there as opposed to myspace..and as much trash as people talk on here Im suprised that some of ya'll aint on twitter..I know I dont always feel like talking about serious stuff ..so yeah...I get on there & give random thoughts, perhaps to get feedback on certain situations..or sometimes jus to relay whats on the brain..if you dont like that, follow people that are more towards your liking..simple..but yeah.. just like everyone else said, its what you want it to be..
