Yo. A lot of y'all probably don't know me but I was up in the Lawrence/KC scene before moving to Austin almost 4 years ago. Anyway, I wanted to pass along this interview I did with the cat that books hip hop acts for SXSW. I think ppl think it's impossible to get on the festival but it's really not the case. If you can spit and you've got quality product and get your application in on time you got a decent shot of getting on. A lot of ppl just don't apply. If dude saw a bunch of KC cats applying y'all might be able to get your own showcase. Just putting it out there. Make moves next year good people.

Great interview, Thomas. From what Matt SoReal has to say, SXSW is gonna be killing it on multiple levels this year.
For all of those who don't know, check out Sonzala's blog, houstonsoreal.com, for more of that good Texas stuff, old & new.
