honestly i hope Dj Fresh wins in the Dj category Heet Mob wins best rap act. Dj Fresh deserves this honor because he is one of the icons of the city. I'm not just saying this because we are crew(Derrty Dj's) hes been in the game since the 1980's and skill wize he can rip alot of dj's a new one. He was brough on the scene by some of the godfathers of the hip hop scene in the early 1980's. I think heet mob show also win because of them breaking groud for alot of cats in this city. We should all fall back and respect the icons in this city and give it to the legends of the game because if we can't respect our past, we are bound to fail. I was discussing the nomination with Fresh and Heet Mob and they didn't even know.
THats just my two cents

and Just should win in the dance dj category. dude has been around the club scene here for YEARS. i saw him kill shit at the hurricane back in like 2000 and that was just before i even got tables. seriously needs some recognition because he's seriously adapted with the times and always a sick set to catch no matter what he's playing.

I mos def agree. Hopefully by them changing the game with the picks this year maybe we can see some other acts that deserve to be on there as well like Young Rich. Here's to the pitch for making a change!

Here is Some Info
Cash Image had the radio hit I'm My Chevy(One of the few locals who received major airplay production by Don Juan). Also he moved hella units(if you don't believe me check the soundscan). He also released many popular mixtapes with the Streetmonstaz under his name and the Bass Rocc Boyz.
Empire aka Grant Rice and Crew has done major moves out of state and had tracks on the mixtape Sku did for Mike Savage alot of his production is handled by SG.
Heet Mob have been getting major project placement with cats from the WWE and other movie soundtracks and commericals through Chuck D's Slam Jamz Label. They are holding down the open mic every monday at the Embassy and their history all you have to do is listen to the Basement Khemists aka J Lee Taha & Joc.
DJ Fresh Kansas City Dj Icon he has been in the over 20 years. Major mixtape movement with the KC Landmarks Series. He's a member of many prestigious international Dj's Crews including the Core Dj's and my crew Derrty Dj's which was founded by Nelly. I could go on about this man's history and he was one of the few cats who helped me out when i moved here. He is also repsonsible for discovering Legion the Legend who signed with the Trackboyz and one of the only locals to get Major radio airplay in over 50 markets including Chicago(he got more airplay than tech last year on the national level the only other Kansas City artist last year with more spins was Lil Ronnie)

I'm voting Fresh, Tactic and Ces
- Jun 25, 2008 04:22am by phism
i'm too lazy right now to find the online ballot thing, but if somebody posts a link i'll do it.
my biggest beef with the pitch awards is that you can't just skip stuff. i don't think. sometimes i don't know any of them, sometimes i don't like any of them.
p.s. three cheers for having a couple actual punk bands in the punk category this year. it's a rare occurence. by the way, hiphopkc.com's FlatassBen is in Dark Ages if you needed something to sway you in that category. they're like old school hardcore...

People always ask me why do I play radio rap ,saying i'm not true to the fact, how else can i spread the message of knowledge of self, when they are not trying to hear a backpack. you might hate that im play to damn near 5,000-10,000 people every weekend through various means, im just trying to help true local rappers reach their dreams....those who are true in the game know what I mean

also i don't see how The Barbaric Merits got left off any of the Dj categories too.
and Les should've been in the best live act.
- Jun 26, 2008 10:52pm by _DEMENCHA_
You could make a very strong case for Izmore, I agree.

doesn't anyone else think its kind of messed up that theres no hiphop act in best new or live act? yup, we're still not music........... i hate stuff, often. i think ces and les would of been great in live act and sway would of fit just right in new acts but hey i'm just one person
