CALL TO ARTISTS: City Center Square
Urban Culture Project, in collaboration with City Center Square, is seeking proposals from artists interested in being considered for a new window installation commission. The selected artist will create an installation for a large ground-floor window at City Center Square, located on the north side of the street just west of 12thand Main in downtown Kansas City. (The window faces 12th street, and is located just opposite the MAX station.) In relation to the United States Post Office located within City Center Square, the installation should engage themes of mail, postage, postal service, etc. Creative, innovative, artistic approaches to this subject are encouraged.
The selected artist will be awarded a material budget of $500 and an artist stipend of $500 to support the creation of the final project. The installation will remain on view for approximately one year. Proposals are due May 16, 2008. Click on the icon below for more details, including submission requirements.
