A friend and I compiled a list of things that are unique about baseball that don't hold true in the other major team sports.

interesting list... i have a lot of friends who are baseball fans... and i don't really get it, but i would like to.
i will say that the chiefs' fans cause a good amount of fan interference, noise-wise with audibles and whatnot, which i am proud of. and yeah, you mentioned soccer.
what does #13 mean, about "field goals"?
baseball's a lot more fun to play than to watch. the best part about watching it is when somebody steals a base.

alwayz been my favorite sport. Its a game where all the physical skill means nuthin if you are not mentally up to the task. I love basketball & football but baseball is a real thinkin mans game.

how so?
i'm not trying to be argumentative, but i really think i need baseball explained to me in a way i can appreciate. what am i watching for?
like i think a lot of americans don't understand soccer because they're focused too much on the points, and not the actual gameplay, matchups, etc.
and i actually like football because i think, despite the jock image, that football is the best game for an analytical thinking person like myself. because it's the game in which the coach (and coaching staff) matters most. like a chess game or something, trying to figure out what the other side is going to do and how to exploit their weaknesses. "plays" matter more.

I loved to play Baseball. I'm not a big fan of the MLB.
Until they start sharing revenue that game will always be about the haves and the have-nots...
But I do make it a point to get out to the "K" a half-dozen times each year.

I think to really appreciate it in its whole you need to know the game pretty well. Pitcher-batter duels with a bunch of pitches fouled off and a full count are exciting to me, but I can certainly see why someone would get bored.
And the suspense that builds in well played playoff games is better than anything in the sporting world, in my opinion.
The game is just magic.

From a hitters stand point, you have to know the pitcher. Know what his habits are on specific hitter counts, (what does he like to throw on a 2-2 count? what's his go to pitch? is he gonna throw outside or try to brush me off the plate?..etc) Vice Versa for the pitcher, (Is he a power hitter? Pull hitter? Does he appear to be sitting on the fastball or off speed piitch?) Thats the most exciting part for me is try to figure out how certian picthers are going to approach certain batters. Every single pitch is situational, every single pitch matters. I can certainly understand that if you are not into the game that it would be boring to watch but every single pitch is a huge mind game. You can be the best fastball hittter in the world but given the situation you have to figure out if thats whats coming out of the pitchers hand and you have half of the blink of an eye to decide...im hype for the season now!!!

They should play D-Will's "KC Fitted" at the "K" from now on when someone for the Royals hits a home run.

That means they'd play it about 10 times a year!
Maybe they should bring the fences in...or get sum cats who can hit the ball out!
