yeah so i just kinda had a question on what the current copyright laws are on sampling? i sample a ton of songs? is this illegal? am i gonna end up getting sued in the end? if any of the records i am producing ever make it any where? if any one can get back to me that would be great!
thanks

Copyright laws are super stringent right now.
You won't get away with sampling much if the tracks reach enough ears for the RIAA or the sampled artist to notice.
As a rule...
Samples need to be cleared.
But if you're not planning for the record to reach thousands of people it's not something I'd immediately be concerned with.

Me personally I would just plead ignorant if they came up to. I ain't got no money to clear samples....but yeah.....just keep thinking "hundreds" until you get enough to clear......
or you could just make your samples so different to the point nobody knows....*shrugs*

Pleading ignorance will get you nowhere with the law, ever. If you are in the buisness/hobby of doing something, it's your responsiblity to know the regulations.
