I Just wanted to take a moment to thank all you for coming out to
HH&HW last night. Ataxic and I both had a great time. And it appeard everyone else did too.
Shit was real live. It's been steady in recent weeks, but last night was
perfect. Just how it should be. Made me remember why we've been doing this. Perfect way to go into Christmas for me.
Thank you to Reach and Les Izmore for absolutely killing shit as usual.
SP Chistams went off beautifully.
Thanks to the whole Soul Providers crew for continuing to set standards.
You guys alwasy create a good vibe for all in the room.
... and to whomever made off with last of the sugar cookies, well, i'm not very happy with you right now.
anyhow.
Beginining in January, as some may have heard, Mythik and Dublow will be combining the Jumpoff with us for Sunday nights. This means the upstairs shall be open each week and we will trade off who's on what floor from week to week. This also means more regualar performances in the house, both local and touring.
This year also marks a new branching out for HH&HW.
We are going to attempt to launch a sort of inde touring network of spots for artists to perform at.
Tokyo is already in effect, courtesy of my man C.J. and it is going VERY well from what i hear. He also makes it very known to the patrons that it is KC founded and inspired, which is real cool.
I have friends in Seattle, Portland, S.F., LA, and Denver who intend to launch nights of the same name and aesthetic, and I (and possibly AJ too) will be starting up the NYC edition upon my arrival there in March. Ultimately i want to find people in other cities as well who will work with us to start up other branches, so anyone who wants to get involved or knows of someone in another city who would want to give it a shot, please contact me.
With enough help and hustle i think we can make shit pop, and put KC on the map in the process.
It could provide a platform for KC artists to gain exposure from if all goes according to plan.
So there it is...
We'll see where this all goes.
Merry Chrismtas!
