To hiphop culture! I am feeling so much optimism and forward creative energy locally. I'm just proud to be a small part of that positive energy.
I was talking with Edwin the other day about hiphop, the midwest, hiphop's evolution, direction, integration, and the like and it felt really good to say out loud how proud I feel to be a part of this local community.
The hiphop culture, its basic concepts, the spontaneity of the people, brings such joy to my heart. It inspires me to be a better person, more real, alive and heightens my desire to live fully.
I just decided to express this to all of you. Hiphop Saved and Continues to Save My Life!

While in STL visiting family who were preaching parenting techniques and fear to me (without knowing it)... I couldnt help but feel overwhelmed by mental references to Mos Def and songs referencing "the Boogie Man". IN addition.. I happen to think about dead prez "be healthy" almost every day.
