okay, so some of you may know i have been working on an album for some time.... various mcs over my production.
the question is whether i should release what i have so far right now for free on the internet... or wait until all the mcs i am still waiting on are done and release a finished project pressed up and all.
Peace
trys

In my opinion a few downloads are important, but if it's a project you stand by I would say get it pressed professionally and do your best to get it as many places as possible.
My last project had 14 songs or so, but should have only had about 5 or 6 and would've been fairly strong, also I pressed it up myself with analog artwork and CD inserts from a xerox machine. It didn't look half bad really, but the content is something I was not 100% behind at the time, and even less now, and more places would have carried it if I had it pressed with shrink wrap and bar codes.
So hope you can learn from my mistake

I don't know why you would release it for free..I gave my first one away because it was garbage but if you really think it's dope, press it and sell it, but don't press it with pipe dreams and keep that shit in your closet
I think if it's not done, then wait...either way
maybe just wait until it's done and then put it on Itunes/sell on myspace

Man, you better press that project!!!
You can make a few songs from it available for download, but that album's gonna be too dope to be a freebie!!!

i agree... i want it to be a pressed project, but i am so tired of waiting for people... (cough...toon...vert).
it would be easier to just put it out there, i dont really care about the money. plus who really buys cds now days?

you talking about 'Nocab Nivek'? Reach told me about the project before i left in '06.
press that up son. my latest mixtape was the same situation, i had my parts done and i was just waiting on heads for like 8 months. having something tangible for everyone is so much more rewarding in the end.
send me a track if you need more finished product for it, i'm down.
