You may add on if you like.... Kansas City in November.... I..... heard Corner Speech and was BLOWN away, saw Godemis vs. Dutch, heard Jay Z snippets for his new record and didn't smile, saw CES Cru getting ready to drop a new record and smiled, missed Atmosphere, Mac Lethal, Regina Spector, Ghost Face and Circa Survive live with myself having tickets to all, saw Dutch vs Ben Grimm, bought 2 Milkdrop cd's, saw Ms. Jakki, broke up a fight at Quik Trip, saw Toon vs everybody, saw Les Izmore hustle harder than everybody else at promoting a show, met so many young KC hip hop people that I feel old, got excited about Lenny D's record, based upon snippets from CES, heard some of the worst rock bands ever (and THEY say that Hip Hop is not music), kicked a guy out for messing with 'that guy who dances in a skirt at the Record Bar," made a few beats, got a promotion at work, smoked cigs and drank enough beer for you and your girlfriend... Add on foo!

wow.. november, I wish I thought in terms of months.. time flies... - had a birthday (november is the best moth) - went record shopping in STL and got many many gems I've been looking for - downloaded tons of soul albums - finally found a balance between day job / family / night interests - got closer to releasing another project in Japan - recorded a cover song for a european producer - convinced a friend of mine to produce Me - hung out with Ubi a lot - saw my daughter make many strides growing up - realized I am very happy I ended Feel Sexy - immersed myself in catching up with the list of things I've been pushing off since my daughter was born - got closer to licensing a song to a BBC Dj - found great albums at local spots including ZEBEDEES on 39th (go) - contimplated many new releases I will make - finally received copies of "closer love" VINYL (now in the innatesounds store online.. and in LoveGarden in lawrence) - realized that just because an artist is ___ or ____ doesnt mean they make good music.

Comming back from the Chi I managed to link up with one of the first people i bought records from as a child and bouch a bunch of obscure gospel and soul classics. Met with a legendary record producer who made me appreciate italian music alot more. Went to a record store i went to as a child and still found gems that i can play out to this day. Recoginzed how much I miss home and how much i gave up by moving to kansas city. Got a chance to network with dj's in the Chi and Stl and heard alot of great music including a james brown reworking by a chicago artist. Got a chance to spend time with my nieces and grand nieces and realized i missed them much. I spent time with the family and listened to music and realized the importance of music and how it brings people from many generations together. Realized that there is not enough hours in a day to cover everything you want in a 3 day period. Learned that a guy i idolized in the funk game spirit wasnt right. Learned more about the importance of publishing and owning the rights to your own music. I found an og copy of 1st Draft(dilla and Phat Kat) mint along with the Joc Max J Live Remix along with alot of dope latin lp's at a record store in KC. Realized that this is a small world and that people you meet know everyone you know(while working on a story i never knew how many people have played with or worked with oliver sain). Leared to count my blessings everyday and to work hard and a higher power will put everything in place peace dj shad

[quote:c6340faaf2="DjShad"]miles did you go to record exhange, vintage vinyl or the private collector.[/quote:c6340faaf2] I only had time to go to Record Exchange and Euclid. Review coming soon.

the record exchange is classic. i've spent years in that store and still find stuff every time. my 12" game is right because of that store. every 12" is 2.00 at first it was 3.00. why amd i giving up one of my top digging spots in the u.s. Just Blaze goes there on a regular,he decribed it in an article. I've only had one bad run in there but the store manager apologized. It is a diggers delight, expect to spend at least 2-3 hours just to dig through boxes. I first found out about the store in 98. I've taken plenty people digging in that store. Vintage doesn't has as much as it used to but you can still find the occasional classic along with new indi hip hop and spoken word. Most records at record xchange are under the 20 dollar range unless its really rare. The condition is great. It is one of the few mega record stores in the midwest after Ron(R.I.P) closed the music exchange. Zebedees is a great spot also plus the godfather of dj's Darrell works there. Hobley's has been good also ive found alot of 80's hip hop. I hope everyone enjoys record digging like i have. I've been enjoying digging at new spots across the midwest.
