I just got an e-mail from a rep with the soundscan and common sold over 100,000 units making him #1. Will labels and black radio actually see that quality hip hop is marketable...maybe not but at least he finally got number 1 and seeing the support of Oprah Fans........ringtone artist sean kingston(beautiful girls) was number 6) the only other rapper who moved units this year has been TI

Go Common! I still haven't heard this album yet. I'm planning on downloading it because I bought the new UGK "Underground Kingz" on tuesday (and it's fucking killer) and if I start buying too many CDs I'll feel guilty for not having downloaded them. I buy CDs on special occassions.

Big ups to Common! He's always been one of my favorites, and though his sound has gone through some changes it really irritates me to find people who suddenly stopped supporting Common simply because he is getting the money, popularity, and credit he deserves. I mean I know there are people out there who really just feel his older stuff and that’s cool, but damn I’ve run into some people who just diss Common blindly, some of which haven’t even heard his newest album.

I'm happy dude is number one, I'm proud people like him...but i have to be honest I thought Be was a better album...there are some definite cuts on this album, but I'm feeling the new UGK way more... Common needs more tracks done with 808 kits 😛

I dig the new album. I also agree that Be was hotter.
