I'm not saying that singing doesn't belong in hip hop, cuz i love a good crooning on the hook with an mc spitting verses.
Keep at it. But I don't like your singing at all.

but what'd you think of the song, overall?
excluding the singing.

like demencha said, id take out the beginning part with the singing
the lyrics and rhyme scheme are pretty good, id just add a little more swagger, i dont know if you were reading the lyrics or not but it helps to memorize em first

i might be tempted to say that. it applies most of the time.
get a better microphone or something.

I've heard cats that have been doing hip hop a long time whose songs are worse. Try, try again. The next song will be better.

yup, that singing?? has gotta go. from another person who has the same disability, don't sing or try to sing i should say.
as for everything else i'm with lucid, i've heard so much worse for people who have been doing this a lot longer than you have. Keep it up, play around with your delivery, tone, everything and find something that fits with your voice, it can never hurt to try different things cuz if they dont work you just go back to what did. overall (forgetting about the singing) not bad.

I've listened to it twice now...
I'm not even gonna beat around the bush. Your flow and voice and lack of cadence causes me to have to force myself to listen to it each time I do.
There's a guy who does spoken word/rap at area bars and his shit is so bad it's funny and people give him pity applause after each song. I've seen this guy do shows at the peanut and harlings before. Your flow on this song reminds me of that guy.
This sounds like something I'd expect to hear on a Saturday Night Live parody or the white rapper show.

For it being the first time on the mic...you did pretty well. But like Lucid sed....you can only go uphill from the first song....
But over all it's tight....
but....the singing......?
- Aug 13, 2007 08:34pm by machine Location: gladstone
aight, aight. i get the point, i'm not a good singer.
