Topic: Being railroaded...

I'm sick right now. I just had a run in with a co-worker (someone in a position of power) and long story short... I'm being railroaded. She's basically completely and utterly fabricated an exchange we had the other day. During which, she was short and rude with me. She's since turned that truth on its ear and approached my supervisor with the untruths. The problem you ask? My supervisor and I had a big run-in previously where she did the exact same thing. We have bad blood. So my job security comes down to my supervisor (no friend of mine at any point since joining her team) being the arbiter of who is telling the truth. Remember... The lady who claims I was insubordinate has a position of authority... Her husband was the former head of our entire department. Her reputation is solid. I'm sunk...

Me too man... But I don't have a good feeling. Even if I can substantiate my claim it'd be "easier" for them to believe her... She's in a position of power.

hahahahhahahahahahahhaahahahaha phism you crack me up. reach, take a couple breaths, sleep on everything, then strategize you plan of approach. no matter what, go slow, listen to what is being said by whom, turn your tape recorder (spy size) on. take notes so you look to be documenting everything said in writing, pause recap, then launch in to a rebuttal point by point. remember to listen to what and who is speaking after each point, make more notes you know the drill, until, they slip up YOU STAY STEADY and clear about the end goal not being right so much as getting them to paint themselves into a corner. something people who think they have an advantage often do because of their arrogant security. me, sending good vibes you, wiping the floor with them them, egg on their face. peace nrg

There has to be a reason they're doing this whether it's something you did that they don't like, or they're trying to create something for themselves... or maybe... just maybe... they're bitches.

I went down there and did a 4 HOUR testing just for them to tell me I wasn't qualified.. some bullshit, BUT reach if you got 4 hours on your hands and looking for SOMETHING I know for sure they are hiring.. OH they also had an ad in last weeks sun.. Hope it helps, worth a shot at least!

Thanks for all of the advice guys. I'm here today... Calm, poised and ready to address the situation whenever it comes up. It's not gonna be easy getting me up out of here. I've worked too hard on this job to lose it over some nonsense. They're gonna have to pull tapes and substantiate every claim for me to go. It might not be that serious. My boss may actually have my back this go 'round... I don't know, but I'm ready for anything.

If you are half as persistent in your arguements in real life as you are on here then anyone trying to get you fired is gonna have their hands full...or at least a really bad headache. 😆

sorry to threadjack, but i have to get my little bitching in right now too. so i've been working the midnight-8am shift. this morning the person who was supposed to relieve me called in sick, plus all the teachers were gone for some kind of conference or training or something, and the gym teacher didn't show up on time, so there wasn't anyone until they called someone in, which didn't happen until 10:45, so then i have to make the half hour drive home, plus by then i was super hungry, and then i couldn't sleep. so now of course i feel sick. and i wish i was still in bed, but that is not a possibility right now.

That'd be funny ordinarily, but this deals with my livelihood Ben. In reality, Kansas is a "right to work" state so they don't exactly have to substantiate their claims to let me go.

I'm a fairly strong personality type and that helps me get into stupid arguments from time to time. Something I've always got to look at more than I've been done wrong.......is if I've done anything wrong. Also the truth is easy to remember and it's easy to keep my head up if I can honestly say to myself I've done nothing wrong Many people say pride is a good thing, if it's so great why is it one of the seven deadly sins.

That's what I always run into DM. My superiors always try to subdue me and that often leads to power trips. I don't want to get all philosophical, but my appearance often triggers the stereotypical mindset of middle management. Big black man... We've got to try and intimidate him!!! The whole "taming the Buck" philosophy has always been troublesome for me. Having a strong personality, being debative and unafraid to speak up for myself never suits me in a corporate environment.

sorry to hear that you're going through this experience bro. i know several who've been through a similar ordeal. stand firm in your position on the matter, and always "do you". of course have your steps in order if the issue escalates. i hope the matter gets resolved with you receiving any kind of reprimand (beside the "warning" that must be given in times of conflict such as these). i wish you well bro. peace.

People often fear the unknown and I'm not always the greatest at trying to get to know people. That alone can cause conflict and if they have a decent idea you can kick their ass it tends to make it worse. The easiest way I've found to get past all that bs is to make fun of myself every now and then (of course that makes others more open to being clowned on too). Humor always lightens things up. I'd like to be more social. Sometimes it's easy to communicate with people and other times I'd prefer to go through the whole day and either not talk to anyone or only talk to people I already know. The feeling from holding a door, throwing out a smile to a random person, telling a cashier to have a good day too......All of those things reflect how I feel about myself and likely how I come across to others. If I can't take the time out of my precious day to hold a door for someone chances are my day is not going good, but if it comes effortlessly then it's probably a good day. Philosophy, psychology, or spirituality? Doesn't really matter. Overall it seems like people are less and less social these days.

I hate that things have gotten that bad up there, Reach. Use to be a time where it was so family oriented but it became so damn corporate after management change it was hard to breath in that joint. I can only imagine the way it is now, I honestly dont see how you've done it this long, but I hope everything works out for you.

Bryan Fisk...gone. Molly Durham (VP)...gone. All of them quit. It's insane.

That's a cool deal for elderly and disabled people, but not so cool for the guy laying in bed working on becoming the next 1,000 pound man or the person who is trying to avoid social contact.
