    I know what you mean. Im getting it renewed today. When is the last time and how often do you check that stuff though? I completely take responsiblity for approaching A.B.C. but my manager should have been on top of it. Had I known how much power they have. I wouldn't have said jack. They really do have alot of power though. They really could have shut us down. It would have been b.s. though. My manager really should have let me know. They had the expiration date up fpr employees who needed to renew their food handlers card, but no liquor. I also heard that they went through the rest of the staffs cards today, and called all the people who had expired cards and told them to re-up. Oh well......I was ready to leave that place anyway. Too many ill vibes. When I started wearing my flat hat, I would always get, "Whats up Nelly?" ..When I started wearing my Fly-Eyed sunglasses. I would get, "Whats up Kanye?" but I never fought anybody at Lidia's for saying that!     hey man just use being let go to your advantage. I was let go from a major company and my career went up from there. That week I got to dj for erykah badu and benjamin muhammad at kabal and landed 2 residencys at spots in the city. Use the time, come out with a dope project, hustle it at 5.00 a pop 5.00x100 copies=500 dollars make a quick cover at kinkos and buy a stack of cds for 5-10 at micro center and grind.     Its just like any other permit. It has an expiration date on it. I also founr out that they did have it posted that cards were expired. My name just wasn't on the sheet. A few people that I talk to that still work there keep me up on the info. They figured that my General Manager had it out for me for a mintue and took this time to get rid of me. I went to get my card re-newed and happened to run into the agent that pulled me off the floor. He told me that my manager asked him if he could fire me, he told him that it was up to him. He was also trying to tell me that I could still work, just not run food. But Jason Connor, the manager, just said leave. Jason Connor is ill. He is te type of person that talks bad about people, makes generalizations and stereotypes, but still acts like he's your buddy. Alsways singing Warren G and Nate Dogg....un-edited. calls himself old school. I got more stories if you want..... Tell everyone you know not to eat at Lidia's, that place loves to discriminate. they do it ninja style tho.

Their head server, Orin Moats, big ultra-conservative white dude, was crying just last week because he had to serve some, "towel head mutherfuckers." I have a friend named Loretta, you may know her she had a store down on the Plaza. I think she sold jewelry. she just moved downtown. Let her know if your know her. And the chiefs Players that come in everyonce in a while, (they really do like to know this type of shit) I also work with this lady named Shayla King who promised me that her friend was the best friend at the pitch and she would make sure the story got killed before it made it. I would be more than happy to tell you how hard it is to get a job as a server in Kansas City. an old black man came to Lidia's and called me an anomaly. (sp) He told me that I was the first Black bartender that he had seen since he left California, two years before he seent me. He said, "we used to run this shit." Complete with the whole looking fo masta's watching eye. he knew what was up. Now I can't get a job without kissing hard ass! My grandfather owned a Restaurant in Olathe. I've worked in a Restaurant since I was 15. I've worked at more that enough Zagat rated restaurants to own my own. But i still "gotta be a good nigga fo a minute though, so I can get me props and win it Yo!" Thats how I get through......... the Wu, thats why I luv 'em. It's B.S.
