Topic: Jason Whitlock

This was taken from Allhiphop.com.....surprised to see dude's name on there
JASON WHITLOCK HAS GOT TO BE THE BIGGEST SELL-OUT EVER.
There, I said it. Well, ever is such a strong word, but he's really big. What a pawn he is. He had this to say about Mike Vick and Hip-Hop:
"I believe Vick got involved with breeding vicious pit bulls because rap-music culture made it the cool thing to do."
When was breeding murderous pit bulls a Hip-Hop thing? I mean, I’ve been into rap all my life and I never caught that phase of rap. I know there is DMX, Tim Dog, Snoop Dogg…umm…Wow Bow (not a typo). With the possible exception of DMX, I never saw this as any type of prevailing trend that would make it a Hip-Hop thang. You know what? Vick is a grown a** man and the last time I recalled, he had free will. Secondly, Whitlock must be on the take to be reasoning Hip-Hop is why somebody would brutalize some dogs. He'd better hope nobody tries to brutalize him. Maybe he should talk to Big Boi of Outkast who said, "They're the best dogs because they're loyal to a fault. I would never hurt one." Maybe he should go talk to a pit and ask him and see what the pitbull would say to his face. Whitty Whitlock also said this:
Now we can all see the stupidity. Gangsta-wannabe rappers masquerading as professional athletes is a public-relations nightmare waiting to tear apart sports franchises and leagues.
Now, rappers and athletes are one and the same? Vick is a rapper? You know what’s one and the same? Whitlock and O’Reilly. I wish he were a rumor so I could dismiss him. Where is Malcolm X!?!!?!?!

I've never seen eye to eye with whitlock.. He's always bashed the chiefs.. I mean its his job to give constructive criticism.. But none the less still support the home team. THIS ARTICLE came outta left field to me and nit-whitlock needs to leave hip hop alone.. It's been slammed enough recently..
BUT! Whatever makes him hated or loved.. It still makes him popular.
I talked to him once at the big 12 tournament YEARS ago.. My first thoughts was this guy is a jackass.. But he knows his sports.. JUST NOT HIS MUSIC!

Yeah, Whitlock generally seems pretty on top of things. Bang up work Jason, we really appreciate how you've represented our city.

Elijah

He doesn't even know sports.
I'm sick of hearing this crap about dogfighting.
I can just see Whitlock while he was writing that God awful article linking dogfighting to Hip Hop culture while he ate a damn hamburger.
I mean really. That's the silliest mess I've ever heard.

That wasn't a fat joke.
I'm just saying all of this hoopla about dogfighting is dumb to me.
The same people railing against Vick eat beef.
Or have leather jackets hanging in their closets.
That's no different.

DL Hughley brought up some points this morning. They are all upset about michael vick, but nobody's protesting Sea World or the circus becuase of their treatment of animals. Where is peta at in those situations when the lion is jumping through a hoop of fire or a elephant is sitting on a bike. What about sigfried and roy, the lions snapped in that situation. Gandi said it best, you can tell how a country treats it people by the way it treats its animals. Jason whitlock hates on michael vick, but has a leather coat, how many cows did it take to fit him..... my bad i forgot he rocks the pleather members only coat thats extra smedium.....

I gotchya Reach, my role on this board is to make lame jokes and laugh hysterically at them...
But how is eating a hamburger the same as breeding dogs to fight and die for monetary gain? Or even owning a leather jacket?
Now, if a member of PETA were eating a hamburger, that's another hypocritical story.
But it just seems far-fetched relation at best.
- Jul 24, 2007 09:32pm by DEMENCHA
I remember one year, several years ago, Whitlock predicted that the Chiefs would go undefeated. I think it was that year we still had DT and Neil Smith...

Raising cattle for human consumption is not at all different from training pitbulls to fight to the death. If you've ever seen a cow being slaughtered you'd know what I mean. And I can show you video of animals being skinned alive for their coats for nothing more than luxurious apparel for the same people that rail against Vick. Trust me, it would make you sick to your stomach. Furthermore, meat eating isn't exactly necessary. Factory farming is, in fact, one of PETA's four core issues.
Besides...
Pitbulls have been bred as uber-aggressive dogs with killer instincts for 150+ years.
I'd never personally have anything at all to do with dogfighting, but I'm not as appalled as some of these hypocrites running around. Vick's an idiot because he continues to give these hypocrites a reason to keep his name in their mouths.
But I don't know that dogfighting is as God awful as SOME PEOPLE claim.
- Jul 24, 2007 11:44pm by maclethal
Not disagreeing with you Reach, but I would say the difference lies in the way that Americans perceive dogs, and that's why there is such a laughable outrage going on.
I think blaming hip-hop for dogfighting is just flat-out ridiculous. Dogfighting has been going on for centuries around the world. While certain nations, like ours, place this sanctity over dogs, a lot of other countries eat them and fight them for sport.
Did you know that cows are so stupid that a lot of them will end up dehydrated if they are standing on snow for too long? They will not eat snow, and a lot of them die in the winter in certain places if they aren't manually given water to drink.
I like dogs, and eat steak. Bored old America needs someone to crucify again.

Mac -
That'd sound like it make sense but actually eating snowing for hydration takes energy, reduces body temperature, and increases dehydration. Now if the cows had the intelligence to melt the snow (which is healthy), that'd be miraculous! Most humans don't know to do that!! LOL
- Jul 25, 2007 06:27am by Whatsgood
The way those dogs were murdered: electriced, Slammed, ect. Fuck Michael Vick I hope they continue to bash him. Sure theres a thing as guilty until innocent Duke Lacross ect however They found 17 dead dogs & a dog fighting cage on dudes property no way he didn't atleast know something was going on. Him being connected along is enough to be found guilty peace out Vick you overrated peice of shit. He's a good of a pass as Matt Blundin & Pat Barnes.

I agree that they way the animals are treated are quite similar, if not even better for the dogs in some cases. But even if eating meat is no longer necessary, it is still way, way more necessary than humans being entertained or making money off of fighting animals. My opinion.
And swayzorblades, if you've got Vick as your fantasy QB...YIKES. Just YIKES!! You better have Ladainian as your RB, at least he can throw!

I feel you. I just hate the hypocrites who've come out of the woodwork talking trash.
"Peyton Manning would never have gotten himself involved in something so detrimental to his character!!!"
That dude got slapped with a sexual harrassment suit right before he left the University of Tennessee. He settled out and that story went away.
The media's having a field day with Bonds and with Vick and it pisses me off.

They spent a #1 pick forget dudes name at the moment, Ashely Lelie, Pro-Bowl tight end Algie Crumpler. Who'd Trent Green have to throw to? Alex Smith? Those are just a few QB's who had nothing and made it work.

CASE CLOSED.
Ashley Lelie was a Falcon LAST SEASON. He's in San Francisco now.
He caught 1, count it 1, Touchdown in 2006.
The Falcons drafted Laurent Robinson, this year, in the THIRD ROUND.
You might be referring to Michael Jenkins, can't remember what round he was taken in, but he had all of 436 receiving yards last year.
Crumpler was his only real target last season.
Their best receiver this season is former Chief Joe Horn and he's a thousand years old.

this whole problem stems from generalizing people...could be because you're lazy or you're ignorant when it comes to certain things but everyone does it...it just so happens that he has a job where people listen to what he says but hes not gonna change his opinion to try and appease everyone else...or it would take all day to construct a sentence...he often talks about how terrible athletes who rap are, which has been the case so far in my opinion, but i could just as easily be proved wrong tomorrow as i am, in my mind, correct today. We just say that all athletes cant rap and that all rappers approve of dog fighting because we're lazy

My god reading some of these details I can't believe anyone would compare this to cattle. They had a "rape machine" are you fucking kidding me? More charges to come I wonder what those will be. Possibly Tax Evasion for gambling thousands and not reporting it. Also the people he was with two of them have been ordered to do weekly drug testing so obviously the company he was around wasn't good they could prolly get him on drug conspiracy charges like Ja Lew. Anyway if Michael is anything like his brother than he belongs in jail way to blow a whole career and 100 million... dumbass.

I can show you video of animals being skinned alive for nothing more than to make pricey garments for rich folk.
No one has a problem at all with dogracing and that sees the deaths of 20,000 Greyhounds each year.
People are full of it.
And if you were ever to see a cow being slaughtered you might change your mind.
The real difference is what Mac said earlier in this thread.
Dogs are domesticated. So their perceived value is much higher than the animals abused in the process of providing us with luxury and excess.
- Jul 27, 2007 06:42pm by Whatsgood

No, but people are responsible for perpetuating such animal cruelty.
Should Vick do time? That's not for me to decide. It is illegal so according to the letter of the law, yes.
But pitbulls have been bred to dogfight for about 150 years.
To make Vick such an "Enemy of the State" is lame.
