This was in the preview section of Nov. 3rd's Kansas City Star...i believe page 13 to be exact... Anti-Crew ‘The Progressive Movement: A Step Forward’ This raw, politically charged album is an engaging journey into the minds of Flare Tha Rebel and DJ Eternal. Flare Tha Rebel’s lyrical swords are ready for war on songs like “Potential Energy,” “Gun Talk” and “Anti-Republican.” And DJ Eternal might be a beat maker at heart (peep “Check Out All the Cool Things I Can Do”), but he doesn’t shy away from the mic when he rips it on “Rearrange the Stage” and “Blood Type Dope Positive,” co-produced by Joker 70. Even more striking is how the duo holds its own along seasoned lyricists like Ces Cru on “Switchblade” and Joe Good on “Someone Shoulda Told Ya.” For some laughs, check out the crunk-funny “Pick-Up Truck,” where the two give Dave Chappelle a run for his money when it comes to Lil’ Jon impersonations. They also team up with Approach (“Vibe and Maintain”), Vertigone of the Guild and Lucid of Human Cropcircles (“Against the Tide”) and make some lovely sounds. — J.O.
