    What do you guys think about the no drama policy here on hhkc? Does it make the site boring? Does deleting posts in vein of the "no drama/beef" policy hinge on censorship? I personally think censorship is a good thing sometimes, and bad in others. I think if you have to diss someone or bring an issue to someone, do it that way, not on a message board. I do that from time to time, and I think people get intimidated that I'd actually bring up issues with them face to face. But fuck it, whatever... In the way of communication, the internet has done wonders for communication and fucked everything up at the same time. You could write out an email, the exact words you might say to someone if they were right in front of you, and the email would come across as being reasonable, perhaps. But if you took those exact same words you typed in the email and spoke them aloud to the person's face, they'd take it as threatening or mean, and you'd be an asshole for it.

    I understand the policy and uphold it because that's one of the few rules that the site maintains. But I think, as I've expressed with Necia, that we should be open-minded enough to allow certain discussions to take place. Sometimes there's a gem of information that be gained from those types of exchanges. Other times it's unproductive. Just depends, but I think Necia has warmed up to the idea of seeing where things go before pulling the plug...

I dont get too heated about much anyway, so a no beef board for me is fine, I am all for a heated debate that might teach me a thing or two though !!!!

    Do you think deleting posts for "drama/beef" content will eventually lead to you guys deleting posts for personal gain? What brought this on? It's a long read. I kinda started a shitstorm on a KC-based electronic music message board with the administrator. There's no personal attacks in the thread, which is surprising, but there's a lot of stuff in the thread that you guys might find interesting, pertaining to censorship on message boards. here's the link: http://www.syde-sho.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22758 I rarely, rarely do banter like this on the internet, but like you'll read in the thread, I had a conversation with someone who was one of the founders of the edm scene in kc and it made me want to bring it to life on syde-sho, an edm website for kc heads. in the thread, there's numerous instances where people (mostly me) use hiphopkc as a comparison to syde-sho.

Im with Reach and Joker with not getting mad at much, so it might be a little fun thing to do.... yes I said it....in small amounts, beef can be fun actually .....as long as you keep it to the thread.

I didn't see anything in this thread that is crucial really Chris. it feels like the same thing that happens here on hiphopkc.com when folks have strong individual opinions and are more interested in putting what they think out than listening and learning in a dialogue of back and forth. I really hear agreement that there had been a rough patch, but that had righted itself. generally, most sites go through periods of discontent and bickering, it runs its course if there is little notice given to it and then rights itself. that's why I asked you what happened or where is this coming from. right now it feels like friendly banter and I'm all good with that

I think that is a good thing. If I didn't think that I might get the ban axe from HHKC, for saying something stupid to somebody whos ill, I would have said alot of ill things, to some people who are stupid. but I know the "Rules" Its fun to be witty with people and word play. Crush em with creativity... But I think for the most part people "get" my sense of humor and rhetoric. If the response to the insult, is as lowly played and as immature as the insult. how is anything gained. I've been on other sites, talking about meeting someone, to F**K em up for what they said. With my peeps standing right over my shoulder, "Like wheres that fool at?" It would have been nothing nice for anyone. I would hate for the banter that goes on here, to turn into something off the boards. That would only lead to bad press, less Hip Hop promotion in our city, which you all know we dont need, and bad press. Then we become just another stereotype or statistic. Dont get it pretzeled tho.     this site isn't nearly as ill as lawrencehiphop.com was. man, there were some fucking knuckleheads on that forum. i think this place is a little more tight knit. and it's good that way. lhh.com was funny back in the day. shit was a concentrated dose of drama.

There are sites that I've moderated for in the past that do that very thing, but this is a different dynamic.
