I was listening to an old cd last night and I wanted to salute the slept on era of music called 80's r&B. Chuck d called it rhythm and bs or champaign music with no soul but i disagree. I think back to some of the jheri curl classics like Tonight by Ready for the World, Al B Sure Night and Day and others and think some of the hotest music came out during that era. Lets not forget Cameo and dome of Prince's best work. People can hate because its not the obscure breakbeak funk of the 60's or 70's but lets face it Jimmy Jam and Terry Lews had classics during that period like Alexander O'neals a broken heart can ment, The Time's 777-9311. list your fav 80's r&B joint

Cameo is one of my favorates......owwwww
The 80's had some pretty good music looking back. It was a time of experimentation for sure resulting in many one hit wonders, but many of those songs are just as good today if not better.
