2 Easiest Ways to Get Shows:
1. chop it up and get a disc to heads who run events. (i.e. Beatbroker, Mythik, MontyIll, whoever is in charge of booking @ The Grand Emporium)
2. get out on the scene and show love at other heads shows. pass discs, flyers, etc.

I'm feeling inspired, im listening to one of the greatest rap tracks of all time 1-900-dial a crook by the convicts and i know i should save it for the book, but
Heres how you u do it
1. Come with a 5 song cd maybe 6 or 7 5 tracks that go hard and or 3 instrumentals for dj's and radio edits(if you don't have studio time for radio edit, rip and do a quick reverse in sound forge.
2.When u make your cd for the public, don't give out no scratched cd's or cd'r with sharpie. Spend 80 dollars for the epson printer that prints on cd. A printable cd spindle will cost anywhere for 10-20 for 50-100 cd's depending on the micro center special. That way you have a professional looking cd
3.Come with some quality music on the cd, none of this rapping over hot beats, im tired of the mixtape shit, artists come with original product, if you do a remix do a re-edit with your verse with the original.
4.Get out and hustle and grind 3-5 cd because everyone has that in their pocket. You can recoup 5x100 cd's=500 dollars= 400 profit 2-3 hundered needs to go to the side
5.WHen working with dj's come early at the club and don't bug them to play it, some of us don't have serato or cd players and we gotta work it in. When you come to us at the juke hour(the hottest part of the club) and bug us to play it, we will prolly wont but if you come early it shows grind and initative
6. build a buzz, myspace,e-mail,internet,cell phone for when you do a show you have a following. Target all areas not just the hood, we have 1.5 in metro and prolly another million in surrounding towns(joco,lawrence/top city/small towns because who wants to be just a hood star) get out and grind and be on your smart grind represent yourself well, if you have a crew make sure they know how to act because your homies can fuck it up for you(if they are off their square(drunk, high calling women bitches and hoes in public)
7.Respect the women-Women buy your music and spread the word. Do Not mess with groupies because groupies are 1 step away from insanity and being an artist is 1 step away from crazyness. WOmen are the powerplayers of the industry, if you don't believe me......ms necia,wendy day,ms amber,etc.
8.Be on your motherfucking square.In public people are watching you and your camp, rock the show, hustle cd's being drunk and high can fuck up your career especially when your in other citys because its a reflection of kc .plenty people have fucked up the image of kc that a group of us have been busy resurrecting.
9.You don't need mainstream radio. KKFI is a perfect outlet with ms shai show. make sure you register with BDS and mediabase. if people say you can pay money to get played...it's illegal its called payola..more on that later. Labels are throwing out deals because of myspace and youtube plays not because of mainstream radio
