(What is this?)
June 9th is going to be a HUGE day in Sacramento and we want to see
everyone there. This is the day for every Obama supporter to come out and
give it up for the campaign - and, you will have a lot of fun doing it too!
In Sacramento we are meeting at Discovery Park at 8AM for canvassing
training, you will walk from 9AM to Noon! It is a great way to get to know
each other, build great relationships, register new voters and introduce
the community and the media in Sacramento to Senator Obama. Our goal in
Sacramento is to walk with a minimum of 300 people, our preference is 500
or more.
After the walk hang out in Discovery Park for a great concert in the park,
from 2PM to 7PM. There will be great music and a good time to be had by
all - and it is all free (well, except for the $4 to park). The concert
features Marty Cohen and the Sidekicks, Garrett Perkins Project, Mercy Me
and The Kimberly Trip - good stuff!
This is going to be a great day with a great mission that is going to be a
lot of fun for everyone! Bring you family, friends and neighbors and
ENJOY!

[color=orange:3e8cae8a45]We are planning our staging event and picnic at Loose Park. I'd love to
have area musicians set up to play for free for us and make this a free
Obama Concert in the Park. Any musicians out there ready to lend their
talents to this event? Is there anyone out there who is familiar with
permit requirements (if needed) that can look into it for us?
They (the Sacramento group) is canvassing until Noon- I'd like to go
longer, making this a contest in getting more new supporters, which is
calculated by the number of "supporter Cards" we fill out and turn in. WE
CAN DO THIS!
The campaign will be sending out an email blast this week asking for
enthusiastic volunteers. KC already has the best in the country, so I'm
looking forward to hearing from most, if not all, of you ready to
contribute any way you can.
Here's what you can do right now- spread the word and recruit your friends
to participate. Put together a list of your recruits and arrange car pools
for the day. We will have the precincts mapped out for everyone and you
can canvass together or we'll hook you up with new friends! If you know
of musicians or entertainers that would like to be a part of our post
canvas celebration, have them contact me at 816 436-5252. Same with
restaurant owners who would like to donate food . If walking is not
possible, can you help plan, solicit and organize food and drinks for the
canvassers?
What can YOU do to contribute to the success of the day? Think outside the
box- all talents, ideas and contributions are needed. If you can't attend
and would like to donate cash to cover some of the food and drink costs,
I'm not too proud to gratefully accept...:)
KC will not be out done- who can I count on to help?
