Have you heard 4:21? I would'nt call it disappearing. Did He leave Def Jam, Or did Def Jam leave him. That album is garbage. and I love the Wu.

compared to Tical?
Did you listen to or smoke the album?
- May 3, 2007 08:08pm by Whatsgood
Anytime you compare an album to an artist best album its automatically a failure. Like Jays new album to reasonable doubt or even The Black Album to the Blueprint. Just because its not as good as another album of his doesnt make it bad.

Yes it does! That too sucks! He should have stayed retired. Anytime you introduce your album with a Budweiser commercial, you loose. Fuck Jay-Z.
You can tell that niggas in love. Crying az ryhmes.

I think that was a bad comparison on my part that new album was kinda fruity. Okay compare the Black Album to Reasonable doubt.. It'd be a failure but in reality the Black Album was an alright album.
I agree fuck Jay-z that guy has helped ruin Def Jam with his corny raps and has to use other rappers as puppets. Hey Jay you yuppy peice of shit RELEASE JOE BUDDENS ALBUM!!

1st, there are not too many albums ANY artist has done that you can mention in the same breath with R.D. It was a dope album top to bottom. It was the most influential album of it's time. When someone creates a masterpiece it's not logical to hold that person to those standards.
2nd, Ipersonally believe his last album was nice. He showed alot of growth & didn't use the "typical" Jay-Z format. He took chances. Not saying that creativity equals quality but it definatley made me respect him more as an artist, plus I thought it was a decent effort.
3rd, your opinion of his presedential abilites @ Def Jam doesnt change the fact that he is one of the illest emcee's (if not the illest) ever! For my money it doesnt get any better than Rakim but Jay is a tough one to argue. No one has shown more lyrical prowess, had more street cred, while balancing commercial success, had more cultural impact & clocked mo dollars over a decade time spand in hip hop than Jay-Z.
Not riding his jock....but you cant argue truth...

I agree he is one of the best to ever do it however mainstream hip-hop is in a crisis mod him being president of Def Jam he has the oppertunity to change this by releasing dope music IE: Joe Budden. Instead he elects to drop R&B singers who sound like sneezing noises (Ne-yo).

The r kelly track is hot .Meth is dealing with def jam contact issues along with any other quality artists on the label. Joe Buddens is playing the smart role, wait three years for your release and leabe the label. That is why people should play the berry gordy/suge knight role sit back and get money. The few successful artist/ower of label was Ron isley with T neck,Curtis Mayfield with Curtom. And they are plenty inidents where people have pulled hov's strteet cred, lets face the truth all the items in the original roc a fella videos were dame and kareem. The sad thing is Ne Yo and Rhianna is keeping the label and the name def jam going and it goes along with the history of the label, they have always had R&B Singers people hated in the 80's when they had Oran Juice Jones(the rain),Chuck Stanley(day by day-still a classic hit) and Blue Magic, the 90's with the familee, and now with rhianna and ne yo. and jazzy jeff cd is hot by the way im feeling the track with raheem devaugn
