I'm trying to choose a theme for the artwork of my beat CD. What do ya'll think about this? Be brutally honest. If you saw this would it make you want to listen to the CD?[/size:af99a8a724]

What sort of text would be good? A different Old English or a completely different font? What's about the cursive?
- Apr 8, 2007 05:50pm by Lucidialect
I'd take out the "Go with the Flow" and "Laid back beats". Or make them smaller. Keep the image bold and simple. Any descriptive text can be smaller and less obtrusive. You don't need to fill the whole space.
Also, if you want to imply that its an instrumental CD, an image of a keyboard, MPC, turntable, hell, even just a background of wave form sounds would work. Images are stronger than text.

keep the colors neutral. and i agree about taking out the taglines at the top and bottom. if you are going to put some extra text like that, or repeating the name or album title, i'd put it in really small text repeated around the border... use a font size that matches the small flowers that touch the border, so it's a solid text border all around..... if that makes sense.
try an Edwardian font maybe.

Those keys are a nice addition. I'd change the color of your name, it needs to pop a little more. The gray scale works too though.

Word to that, I didn't know if it would look funny being the only image with color. I added some shadowing to the keys to give it some depth too.[/size:ab779eca37]

I'd do the crest that color as well and possibly the outside font as well. Green and gold might work well with the crest and could blend with the color of your name pretty well.
Another thing is the border font. I would flip the bottom part around. It would be the same as the top, but would look better than upside down if you ask me.

i like that A LOT better.

Word, I added some contour to all the main images to give them a 3D look. Thanks a lot for everyones help. At first I was just gonna go to Kinkos and get a copy to carry around with me and ask a couple of friends up here what they thought. Then I thought about this site and how good of a tool it has been and how many people I caould get advise from at once.
