Point Blank people fear what they dont understand, on both sides of this "fence" thats splitting us as musicians. I Think that is alot of people had a dialogue with Christos prior to forming an opninion you'd see alot more people championing the cause. Im sick of the diplomats and well-wishers that talk trash on an artist for believing in their message and having a sharp toungue to put it out. if more people fought for something in our fair city we might not all hate on it like we do. My man got more years(in age and hip-hop experience) in than 90 percent of those that have an opinion of him, and its disrespect not to have a convo with him b4 blasting him in any form ofmedia(inet, word of mouth, etc.). There are tru masters of our craft, right here in kc, that some of you under-30's (not all) need to learn about and recognize when you see them in the street instead of regarding them as barbarians because your will isnt as strong.
In closing id like to say that there is nothing wrong with people having their beliefs, they just need to be prepared to stand for them once in awhile in a constructive manner. no violence, no screaming, no lasting implications. back in the day, if musicians had a problem with one another, in the words of George Clinton and his contemporaries, they would "TAKE IT TO THE STAGE!"
when you leave this world, no one will care about your opinions, only what you did to stand by them....

I would ask that each person check within themselves to find their beliefs and opinions on this subject.
we are rapidly approaching our busy season so the timing for this parlay will come at the end of our busy season. Look towards the fall for a series of organized community events with this as the central focus.
my hope that honest, earnest dialogues will begin now so that when the fall comes folks have found not only where they stand, but have opened up to the influences from each other around the city and are ready to meet in person citywide.

1 put together a comprehensive agenda
2. find out from artists who contact people are for the starred clubs
3. shop our agenda in 2 person teams
4. report results of meeting back to the community
here are some questions:
Which of the local venues do you think are most open to hosting hiphop events?
Do we know the in charge people of those venues?
Would it help to create a meeting with those in charge folk and create a committee of our peers to talk with them about hosting hiphop events at their clubs?
What other recommendations for improving relations with clubs do you have?

I didn't vote in this but I think the brick should be pursued hardcore. The people who work there are open to hip hop, and they HAVE A STAGE.
