Recently saw a documentary called "The MC". I had never heard of it before watching, but would say anyone that hasn't seen it probably should. They go through past and present emcees interviewing many along the way. Some that were heavily featured include Rakim, KRS-1, Common, Q-Tip, Kenye West, Aesop Rock, Guru, and quite a few others.
If you haven't seen it, it won't be an hour and a half wasted that is for sure.

I think I saw that on B.E.T. It was a really good documentary. It had an interesting segment on how much of a rappers subject matter should based on real life experiences or their imagination.

That part was kind of funny because half the people were saying stuff like......you gotta talk about what you know, real life experience, anything else is fake.........then the other half were saying stuff like.......i wish i could just go off and write stories and how people are afraid to use their imagination.
It was interesting for sure. I always like how much the definition of hip hop varies from person to person, but each person is damn sure their definition is the only one *cough*like KRS*cough*
