i'm guessing the next 50 project is coming soon...
but he's officially made the first strike and premiered "Funeral Music" on Funk Flex's myspace at midnite est. time... i myself did not tune in because i know the net traffic for that was probably crazy... but my circles are all on top of their game so the vid was waiting on me when i woke up this morning...
if you haven't seen it, and are interested...

YAY! Funny stuff. I LOVE industry beef. It's stupid because it's all over a radio conversation. I do really like the beat and the video. I'm not a 50 Cent fan but he did kinda let Cam'ron have it. I can't wait until the response.
That beat is really phat.

If any of this industry beef shit had meaning I might be more keen on paying attention to it. Do these people really get nerve struck and take it personal when they hear another rapper diss them or is it strictly for publicity to get their albums to sell as we all (should) know the industry does oh so very well?
I fail to see how one can be any more "gangster" than the other when all they ever do is talk shit back and forth on audio.
When a mutual agreement is confirmed to have two rappers go half on a pay-per-view fight, or at least a street fight with no bodyguards, I might be interested in this bull-ass beef shit. Until then, these tough acters should focus on making music that doesnt sound like shit. thx.

This is officially one of the wackest beefs ever. Both their songs sucked - and the whole video thing...?
k - 50's was trash. Pointless as hell. I mean - dude went from talking on a radio show http://www.hiphopdx.com/index/audio/id.1256/title.50-cent-vs-camron-live-on-air-hot97
to making a pointless video with guns and buns (the chicas) in it http://www.hiphopdx.com/index/videos/id.66/title.50-cent-funeral-music-camron-diss.
Pointless. And then Cam's wack response is this wack ass video wit' him ghost ridin' the whip??!! http://www.hiphopdx.com/index/videos/id.75/title.camron-cuurrtiiiss-50-cent-diss
WTF?!?! Ok - for the record I am an ex Cam'ron fan - I liked his first CD back when he was on that rhymin' tip - but as soon as he got on the "purple nurple computers putin' beanies beanin' eatin' linguini" flow type shit I had to leave him alone. And what's sad is that this diss is like the best thing I've heard from him lyrically in a long time and it still sucked!! And I gave 50 props for his second CD - but I hope to def that this diss track isn't a hint at his current rhyme caliber.
When all is said and done though - I think 50 gonna' get em' in this wack as battle/ beef. I hope they keep it on wax b/c both of them seem fake to me. 50's diss is funnier - but cam's vid makes a point about snitchin'. But BOTH OF THEM ARE FAKE as hell right now and seem to only be wantin' attention. 50 shoulda' went the Jay-Z route and played Cam to tha' left.
Peace

nah johnnie jay did respond... BROOKLYNNNN!!! haha...
he was just more subtle... and 50 is upset that all these rappers keep pulling his card concerning the snitching and how he's not street anymore... i got folks in harlem, and they say dips is still pretty much in the streets...
now jay on the other hand had nothing at stake...
- Feb 16, 2007 09:35pm by Talysman
Yeah - but I took Jay's as more to Jim Jones rather than to Cam's Swagger Jacker ish' (Did he respond to that?) And like you said his was subtle. Jay took his own shit and flipped it. Even wit' 50 - Jay was just like "I'm all about a dollar what the fuck is 50 cent?" --> He only gave time to Nas cuz Nas was on the level.
50 seems to be steppin outta' his class even wastin' time on Cam. Jay hit up Baaaalin' wit' the Brooklyn twist cuz that song was actually doin' sun'n - it was actually givin' Jim at least a bit of credentials to be worth havin' anything even resemblin' a beef wit. What has Cam done recently? Since like that song "Oh Boy?" Nuthin'. I know Fif been out for a minute too - but I had him in that upper echelon (sp?) compared to Cam in the current day - am i wrong on that one?
- Feb 16, 2007 09:43pm by Lucidialect
I loved 50's old diss tracks. He had a candid demeanor that was hysterical. Now he's whatever, boring same ol' same bullshit.
Industry beef is comedy. Jay and Nas's beef was refreshing. But it's all propaganda. These dude's don't know each other, and they don't feel one way or the other about that person. It's really all about getting attention.

[img:5cfcfd04c4]http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m81/youngac816/jacknhus.gif[/img:5cfcfd04c4]
I'd say Cam has some songs after that such as "Down & Out" ft. Kanye, and even right now like "Cha Ching Cha Ching" but it just usually falls under the radar... But Cam has SERIOUSLY fallen off since his Come Home With Me days.
50 is the same story since Get Rich Or Die Trying it just hasn't been the same. Its nothing but pop hits and beef tracks.
As far as being on a higher level, I'd say only on a commercial standpoint, because Cam actually does still have the streets in NY, and I say that because I know actual Piru cats from Brooklyn, Harlem, and LES who have told me this much. And that is the reason 50 finds this beef so necessary, if you listen to the segment with Styles what offended 50 the most? When Styles said the streets want him back, which 50 argues that just because he has money doesn't mean he isn't street anymore. Then the vid 50 has all these "bloods" in the video with the rags and so forth.
- Feb 16, 2007 10:06pm by Talysman
what song is this you talkin' on wit' Styles? I'd heard about them two but I hadn't seen or heard anything directly related to that particular issue.

the radio conversation that led to the beef. 50 was originally talking to Styles on some real cool shit, and Styles said the only thing that bothered him was that 50 doesn't do it for the streets anymore or something along those lines...

Ethan Brown had an interesting post on his blog yesterday, concerning the ongoing drama with 50 Cent and Cam'ron. This is what he had to say:
So, I just got off the phone with a source very close to the Diplomats and here’s the deal with the incident involving Cam earlier this afternoon: “Somebody called Cam’s probation officer and told him that Cam had put a hit out on 50 Cent. Cam was then told to come down and talk to the probation officer–or face arrest. When Cam arrived to speak with probation officer, he was told that they had seen the ‘Cuurtis’ video as well as 50’s video about Cam. Cam was also asked about Supreme: ‘How do you know Supreme?’ Cam said that he did not know Supreme but that Supreme is a stand-up guy and 50 should not have been laughing at him on Hot 97. At the end of the interview, Cam stressed that the Diplomats ain’t got no beef with G-Unit. This is just music.â€

Someone needs to remind these clowns what a rap battle is. Oh great, we got two emcees (I use that term loosely) threatening to kill each other in raps. Why not go for the real verbal murder and fry that fu*%er over a beat? The bad part is that it's not totally impossible that one of these idiots ends up dead, although it is highly improbable. Damnit! Why these asses gotta be feedin the youth this senseless sh!t? Perpetuate the cycle. Feed the monster. Teach our communities to hold themselves down.

^and can you imagine if they became martyrs over that? (not that cam'ron didn't used to be kind of dope... children of the corn)
i've been mad for a long time that rappers don't air it out like they were actually mc's.
i wish somebody would start a professional battle league... do it like real sports... maybe like the world cup or the olympics, you and your crew have to qualify... or like boxing where they arrange battles and publicize them. if it was real hip-hop there'd be battles of all four elements.
i'd probably piss myself if i got to watch citywide graff battles on tv.

sad part is we know neither of them would be the ones dying if this beef did escalate into anything more...
and if all else fails, these are two of the bigger names in NY rap nowadays and will bring alot of attn to the scene there...
think about all the beef mixtapes being made, all the filler artists??? local disses between affiliates of both camps? so on and so forth...
