Yo how did y'all feel about Super Bowl 41?
  2. Feb 5, 2007 05:54am by sixer
It was tough to watch. The poor play due to weather, the poor play due to a lack of skill, the mediocre commercials, the constant yammering about two black head coaches. I'm happy for Manning and Dungy, but this was an amateur Super Bowl, all the way around.

DITKAAAAA rex grossman is just awful. he should have been yanked at least halfway through the third quarter. i didn't really care who won, but i was cheering for the bears. more importantly though, prince was amazing. i've had purple rain in my head all day.

I was hoping that the Patriots would've done so. They were well on their way. Then something miraculous happened... Bill Belichick got outcoached!!! Brady was 2 quarters away from a 4th Superbowl victory... They would've beaten Chicago too... Chicago was grossly overrated. Poor weather conditions and they lose to a team that normally plays in a dome? Uh... Yeah...

FORGET THE PATRIOTS.... Does any body really want to see them go to the Super Bowl THAT many times......if they would have made it, the Super Bowl ratings would have gone down I bet you.... FORGET BRADY!!!!

Can't stand the pats (why is their short name pronounced "pats"?) Mannings my boy...he's just broken my heart so many times... ...so I was happy...that also made up for KU's game saturday night...

[quote:108e2b2e16="Reach."] I hate Manning though. That kid reminds me of John Elway...[/quote:108e2b2e16] I agree about Manning but hey, he did his thing in the rain....... I think that The Bears would have had a better chance if the Offense was on the field more (getting used to the conditions) I mean cuz at first everybody was slipping on the ball.... But the Colts offense got into a rhythm and started going places, but the few time that the Bears offense got onto the field they were still having those first quarter slip ups... Not to mention the fact the Urlacher was porlly getting worn out when Addai was running on him..... 😆 and Manning... well he was just doing his thing....He got like 200 yeards passing and what not.... I wouldn't say MVP status but.... everybody did their thing but the Colts came threw.. And Tom Brady needs to give it a break I mean the Patriots streak after the like 4th win was getting old... and I think it was kinda making the SBs less interesting when that one team always makes it..... But it was a nice game overall to me.....

The game is what I expected however I didn't think it would take so long for the Colts to pull away. I'm glad Indy won it now the media will have to talk about something else other than Peytons inability to win the big one. Look out in a few years I think the Chiefs could be playing for a superbowl title if they stop waisting money on free agents and continue to draft well (Last years draft was a good start).

They definitely can't beat up on Peyton anymore. He finally won the big one. The Chiefs definitely need to keep drafting well. They've had 2 really good drafts. They'll need some luck drafting offensive talent now. Specifically on the line (Levi Brown, please) and at WR.

Whats pisses me off is when peopl talk all this trash about Herm Edwards. I mean he got closer to beating the Broncos in Denver in his first year... I mean he made the mistake of putting Trent back in the game but.....heck

[quote:177389a138="DR.T"]Whats pisses me off is when peopl talk all this trash about Herm Edwards.[/quote:177389a138] I think the overall perception of his first year as the HC in Kansas City is rather skewed though. They snuck in the backdoor and snagged the last playoff spot in the AFC. I think that kind of romanticizes a bunch of bad outings from a coaching perspective. He completely botched the QB situation. He took the wrong gameplan into Miami and it cost him. He took the wrong gameplan into Indianapolis and it cost him. Poor game management. Stubborn as a mule about the QB controversy. Not enough in-game adjustments. Frankly, I need to see more... I'm beginning to feel like hiring him was a mistake. [quote:177389a138]I mean he got closer to beating the Broncos in Denver in his first year...[/quote:177389a138] I will give Herm credit for fielding a tougher football team (at times). They played their best game IN DENVER in probably the last 8 years, but the Broncos weren't a very good football team at that point in the season. Even despite a valiant effort they still lost. And Denver didn't bother to score a touchdown. That was another coaching mistake. They were way too conservative in that game. We're stuck with him though so I might as well support him...for now.

If we go by close than we probably lost more games than we won IE: Arz game, Seattle game, Oakland game, ect. Theres a reason people trash Edwards and for a good reason. First of all the guy lies and covers up stupid things like the Michael Bennett injury when he got hurt racing Brian Waters in camp. Second of all when you ask him a tough question he'll make weird noises and goes into attack mode. Third and most importantly he ran a good offense into the ground. With LJ carrying the ball 400+ it's only a matter of time because his career is finishe like the Jamal Anderson, Jamal Lewis, Eddie George. Also the defense didn't approve a ton from a stats stand point. 2005: Chiefs D 20.3 PPG 2006: Chiefs D 19.7 PPG The Defense actually gave up 1 more yard per game than the 2005 D.

OKAY, OKAY.... So Herm made some big mistakes... If he lied his way to the playoffs ... good for him.... if he "Mistaked" his way to the playoffs.... big deal....If he made it to the playoffs by a hair big deal..... First Year folleys..... (Relating it back to hip hop) Look at all yalls favorite MCs.... Jay-Z, Nas, Talib etc.... Were all of them Flawless their first year? Did any of them get Grammy's? NO!!! And I DARE you to prove me otherwise!!!! (Yall better not prove me otherwise either haha)... But then again you can't say too much of there career at that point because it was there first year. No indication of the future!!!! (Back to the NFL) I think Yall are making too many definite decisions about him at this point... If he continues to do this over and over again throughout the upcoming years ...THEN you can say some ish... But it's his first year with the Cheifs... [size=18:b516641a08] SO CUT THE BROTHER SOME SLACK!!!![/size:b516641a08]

That's the thing though DT. He's not a first year coach. Just in his first year as the Chiefs HC. He made the very same mistakes in New York. So I can honestly see it coming. To me, there are no excuses for making obvious personnel mistakes. You can make them and be as human as you and I, but if you do so... You can't coach a football team in the NFL. I think he's coaching 1 level higher than he should be. He's a defensive coordinator at best. He's not playing to this team's strengths. He caused Kawika Mitchell to take a step back after a standout season the year before. His conservative philosophy turned Trent Green back into TrINT Green. This offense wasn't built to play ball-control. It's not ALL HIS FAULT, but I think he's going to be a liability during his tenure rather than an asset.
  23. Feb 8, 2007 11:00pm by DR.T - nuts .. haha Location: KCMO
Well.... we shall see how big a liability he is next year.... Until then all we got are statistics....
  24. Feb 8, 2007 11:31pm by Whatsgood
It was his first year here and he did alright. Still he isn't a great coach and if he sticks to his ways he never will be. When he came to KC he had a losing record for his career (41-43 I believe). The reason we made it in this year is because we backed in and had an extremley easy schedule. We played 4 games aginst playoff teams. In 05' we played 7 games aginst playoff teams and still finished with a better record. The goal for everyteam is to reach the superbowl but i'm sorry to say with Herm Edwards as our coach thats not a realsitic goal if you look at his track record.
  25. Feb 8, 2007 11:57pm by phism
i think the goal of the chiefs organization is ticket sales. an okay team sells better than a good team..... if they're good enough that people think 'next year might be the year', they'll keep their tickets. if they go to the super bowl, a bunch of older people are going to let them go, and then more other people are going to let them go if they get worse over the next few seasons. that's my theory anyway, and it seems to apply to the AFC West pretty consistently (sans this year's raiders)
  26. Feb 9, 2007 06:23am by Whatsgood
The Chiefs will sell tickets reguardless. Problem is we don't have the right peices to put together a true super bowl team. Carls time has passed we need a new GM in there. We've re-done the scouting department some the last few years and it's showed.

How does running a young back like LJ 400+ times in a season EVER seem like a good idea? Has he not noticed what happened to careers of Anderson/George? I think Curtis Martin spoiled him.
