have you ever been to the Marr Sound Archives at UMKC?
it looks like that, except the records are much older. they have Cylinders and 16"s. i think you can either call or show up and they can show you around... but they're a little skeptical because they don't want anyone to fuck anything up.

It's funny you would say that. I work in miller nicholas library. I have been in there a few times. and your right it is crazy. they have alot of joints in there you wouldn't even believe. Like disco! LOL

oh, weird, i guess you're on top of it then.
i have a few friends that work in there... they had a shelf of duplicates and they let me buy this record for a few bucks, for my girlfriend.

man that is my life. Alot of points are true that he are saying. I just came up crazy this weekend. Found a copy of New Day by The New Birth with the junior mafia sample for a dollar also the les mccan record with the tribe called quest drums. A week ago ive found copies unplayed of flow joe and return of the funky man for a dollar. man his life is like mine, traveling, meeting artists and learning the history of the records they made over dinner or lunch or hanging out. I really need to set up my office for the mid town kc record and music archive and whats up on the disco records there, if they have extras that they are tired of looking at im interested

man I went to some crazy record stores this past week. some were like the one featured in the video with the history of music going back the the late 1800's. I went to this store in chicago called Mr Peabody's records and it was a classics dream. I picked up jimmy spicers 12" adventures of super rappin one of the early 12" of hip hop. The collection is great but expect to pay on some items but their dolla bin was crazy. During the time i also stepped up my 45 game, i found a rare 45" for std awareness featuring johnny taylor on the a side and the last poets on the b side, doubles of the 8th day she's not just another woman(biz markie samples) and countless other rare chicago and inbetween 45's and 12.
peace,
dj shad- hope to see everyone on the 7th because i will be dropping some of the finds during the night
p.s. miles why didn't you tell me about the record sale
