Topic: something you might find interesting
- Jan 10, 2007 02:27am by Seph.Vs.TooN.
So I edit the music section of the Pitch. I've been doing it almost two years now and have been writing for the paper in some capacity for a half year longer than that. It's been the best experience of my life.
You should try it.
I see many of my local MySpace friends out at shows and events on the live music scene, and I know many of you to be intelligent, well spoken and funny, and since I'm almost perpetually in need of local writers, I thought... why not sound the call via MySpace?
Let me know if you're interested. Anyone who's a good writer can do it and make a little money at it -- not enough to enable you to quit your day job, by any means, but it can help offset the financial costs of going out all the time, which you're doing anyway. No resume or experience required; all you need is wit and the ability to construct sentences smoothly. You don't even have to be a music expert.
The only caveat is that I'm pretty demanding as an editor, so don't apply if you're very thin-skinned about your writing.
Think about it. Tell your friends who write that I'm looking.
Thanks,
Jason Harper
you can find his e-mail in the pitch if willing

maybe i should apply for this since i hate everything, particularly if it's the kind of hipster tripe that everyone who reads the pitch goes ga-ga for.

Phism, you'd probably be great at this. I'm serious. You do hate everything with a sort of despondent cynicism. And your message was posted at 11:11, which doesn't really mean shit, but whatever.

i always thought seph vs toon was a reference to kartoon and seph that female sike and them know in texas.
hmmm
yeah, I'm not a very good writer. I'll stick to audio for now. My articles would be less that 50 words. I could write 2 sentence reviews... if ever needed.
Phism .. go for it.. you're so negative in a funny and honest way it would be interesting to read.

Phism you strike me as a funnier version of Nathan Dinsdale.
That job is definitely for you.

Hey, I'm not in Kansas City right now, but when I am back I'll hit you up.
I was a journalist in the Army and did some music reviews there. I also did a lot of push-ups.

I would much rather read Phism than Nathan Dinsdale.
