OK so far : forming a promoter's council yady has experience with this type of council looking to support the hiphop academy who are already working with youth as a way to bring younger heads into the community flavapack was doing this and IT back in the day both the academy and flavapack have a person in common Jeremy McConnell thanks jeremy all age venues keeps coming up over and over some folks suggest pooling resources to get a venue for hiphop talysman and rich were on this one someone has proposition and a place in mind fredoraski i think focus on using performance contracts, learning to give and get constructive feedback from others, less gossip and drama more lifting up the community and each other I goofed and deleted the thread so this is my attempt to keep it rolling sorry yall

    1. Be on Your Business(Makre sure your offical product has barcodes for soundscan purposed and when you submit your work for radio make sure it is BDS branded and media base-thats how people keep track of sales and airplay in the industry) 2.Don't rely on radio in one market(you finally made it on the air here, but they are 50 other states and colleges in other states which have stations. Truth be told, people don't get deals because of airplay and those who are getting played everyday, most don't have the sales to match) 3.Support the DJ(If you run up saying your the hottest rapper, your are setting yourself up for failure. Many cd's have hit the trash can because of this statement or running off at the mouth while dj's are playing. Hit us up before we start and we will be more receptive. Its not just in this market, ive discussed this with djs in the chi and stl. Arange meeting with dj's to discuss product and goals. Be available for drops, mixtape hosting and appearances) 4.Backpackers know a gatpacker, gatpackers know a backpaper(if we continue to be divided in scenes then we will fail as a city, many in both crowds respect each other and are on the same grind) 5.Be on the grind(there is more to this world than your circle, clique, block, group, groupies, kansas city....the challenge is rocking a show outside of home and getting invited back) 6.Know how to act in situations(how can you talk business with club owners if your high and drunk. That shows 1 they can pimp you because your not on your square or 2 not invite you back because you don't know how to act) 7.Give your all at shows(even thought equipment might be crappy or sound, learn to adapt, people spent their hard earned money and to throw a diva fit over sound...its a bad look, learn how to adjuse and get to know the sound guy...come early and meet with him and talk with him) 8.Majors are not throught out multi million deals anymore(those days are over indi is the way to go, its better to do it indi and get picked up than sign with a major and get used as a tax write off) 9.Network(work with other people in the industry and other industries to get your product out in different areas) i will drop more info later
