I was a co-host of that show.
Myself, Kiz One and Reel.
Things went down the drain in our relationship with the station's management. And we tried desperately to get the show back to no avail. We put in endless volunteer hours and they soft-shoed us on the whole issue of getting our show back. We got pushed out the door.
They have a local program that airs on Thursdays, but it's in a horrible time slot. There are actually 2 shows. "KC Spotlite" comes on at 10pm on Thursdays, but it features music from various genres on the local front (I believe). The Rap show, "After Spot - Hip Hop", airs directly behind that program from 1am - 5am Friday morning.
We do need another program. In a more reasonable time slot.
KPRS could give us two hours every Saturday.
They pay a ridiculous amount of money to syndicate mix-shows on the coasts. DJ's right here in town have the same records.
They could pay 2 DJ's here half of what they pay in syndication costs...The DJ's could cover the national side of things and cover the local music scene all at one time. 2 hour show. There you go.
And that's from a more cost-effective standpoint.
Since dollars and cents is all they seem to understand.
