Emilio Abadia, AKA E6, is Chicago’s premiere sound-selector. His dj sets provide the soundtrack for Chicago’s underground loft parties to A-list clubs. He grew up on the white sands of Daytona Beach, where he helped organize and promote the tight-knit Central Florida post-punk and hardcore scene. At the same time, he absorbed the diverse sounds of Florida, from the electronic music at abandoned warehouse raves, dirty south hip-hop, Miami bass and the mainstream productions of beachside super clubs.
Since moving to Chicago, E6 has established a presence in the top clubs and among the best djs in the city. Currently, he headlines weekly and monthly residencies at Le Passage, Funky Buddah and Celebrity. In 2005, E6 released two mix tapes, which were highlighted in UR Chicago Magazine’s “The Best of Music and Film of 2005.†His live sets are a breathless musical attack of original remixes/mash-ups, the hottest next big acts, electronic and hip-hop club bangers, 80’s and 90’s breaks, rock anthems and gems from underground and world music.
