oh... wait, I guess your dope beats, beats that have inspired so many ill lyrics that actually started contoversy are really a backbone for this conversation... 🙄

Thank you, Drew.
Can we please get off Illmatic, now? What has it been, 12 years?

I think this new one's gonna be hot.
He's set fire to a couple verses recently.
Both songs with Busta and "We Major".

I thought his "We Major" verse was lazy as hell. "Heard the beat and I ain't know what to write, first line, should it be about the hoes or the ice?" Like, I know he's illustrating a state of mind and all, but it sounded like he was bored. The song is ill though, I like the hook alot. I liked the material he had on the last Deck Demons mix CD. "Serious" was sick as fuck. And a couple other of his new tracks, that I think were leaked, were really sick. I know he's still got it, it's just whether or not he applies himself. Ionno, I'll bet it's pretty hot. I think he's gotten the idea that his Nastradamus shit was pretty weak, and as long as he keeps that illmatic flow he can utilize it for whatever kinds of tracks he wants to do.

i think people like nas... who are "illustrators" of sorts... need an environment to talk about. being rich isn't really all that interesting, which no one seems to have noticed yet.
