Word If anybody has listen to the show over the last 2 weeks,why we were playing holy hip-hop?
It's just a move to more lyrical music, and it just happend to be that is what mz shai has been playing, i took a break from spin'n on the air for a while because of the direction that the music was going. After awhile you get tired of hearing the same old joints about driving down prospect and all the same crap. So we are moving to a different format more lyrcial content.
So we are getting back to the basics of what [u:4a9b4b5114]WE[/u:4a9b4b5114] belive is the sound of hip-hop, being a yrical message, or overall lyrical content. most of the holy hip-hop that was played for the last 2 weeks were just to state that we are moving in a new direction.
So in a way we are ruff'n the grass to rid the snakes, just because your local does not mean that your joints would fit our show. I turlly believe that you have to come to the plate, step your game up be lyrical and be different.
we are not saying for you not to do you, as there are other shows on KKFI that will play your music, but we want to get back to hip-hop and what it ment to dj scott la roc(c)KRS-ONE
Hopefully people will stay aboard and continue to listen to the show, but if not it's cool, just tune in from time to time and try to open your mind.
Like last nigt we played pro-rev, godson and i believe anti cru along with some christan hip-hop groups but to me it was a nice mixture of the both becuase some of the arts that were played fit well with the program. That is the level that we are trying to set and push.
If you can hear it on KPRS you wont hear it on our show. I really want to push the artist out here to make good music and good lyrical content. you don't have to dumb down your message.
So if you like, pro-rev, anti cru, cess cru, little brother, j5, human crop circles, reach, godson, mos def, black starr common, etc.. this is the show for you!!
Thanks for your support as we get it back on track. better show, better music.
Also we are switching times as well, starting in September we are moving to 9pm-11pm.

I respect the format change. People need to hear a positive message in their life. I will remember to bring positive music for my guest mix this week. Alot of major artists are going that direction, The first track on Jaydee loves Japan is a gospel track and Pharell has a spiritual track on his cd. Also remember some of the classic 10% joints from back in the day from X clan to YZ to Ed and the Bulldogs,

I haven't been able to listen in a while, I'll have to check it before I can decide....wait...okay its cool.
