I'm at this! I have "We Live in KC" on my main page at myspace.com/tb_blazin. Obviously, I like it so I wanna' hear what else there is from Deep Thinkers. I enjoy myself when I go to the peanut and I've only been there twice. There's a real nice vibe. So I know if ya'll are posted up on hiphopkc.com, it's a show worth seeing. Peace and love. One.

by the way $12 at the door gets you admission PLUS the brand new Symbol Heavy Sampler (38 tracks of ill KC/NY hiphop) saving you 3 bones off the regular $10 cost of the CD.

Hey, for all you that meant to come out but didn't make it you missed a blessed show of all the above mentioned artists. For me as an O.G. ol' Gramps..ha.... It was good to see the Symbol Heavy crew bringing Art & Music together, and the collab between Deep Thinkers, Negro Scoe & DJ Mythic who is newer to th area, and JD Flow's boy was cool. The walls of the PI Gallery were adorned with Sacred old and new Masks, carvings, necklaces, and fabric art (vegetable dyed etc..), which was like having a Hip Hop throwdown in the middle of the Ancestral Hall in Borneo, (where the art collection is originally from) The Spirits Benevolent & possibly malevolent were flying with the raw spirit and creative flows and vibes. Before Negro Scoe went on at around 11:00 some rowdy youth and an even rowdier & violent Pizza shop owner and his partner got into a fist fight over some supposed sculpture vandalizm/disrespectn???? All i know is one of the youths (a young women) got cold cocked in the face by one of the Grinders Pizza owners in front of yours truly and much of our crew who happened toi be outside....She didn't press charges so the only one taken away in the Paddy Wagon was her boyfriend who she got hit trying to protect. The Pizza guys got off scott free...Justice? Stupidity? F'n lame! This is what alcohol can wreak on the community sometimes.... Anyhow we'll see what develops. Next year I recommend Hip Hop artists that get involved in the Fringe Fest sign contracts ahead of time because we had to work the door/provide sound/provide the show/provide artists and we could have provided the venue......sound familiar? The check is supposedly in the mail.... I think we all need to take it to the next level. I've been involved in Hip Hop culture in KC since at least 1989, Flavorpak,Graff,Promotions,Art SHows, and I'm ready to see these younger brothers and sisters get some respect as well as my friends as older artists to get paid the proper dues in the community, and for Hip Hop to get some respect when we are being professional and fulfilling our part of the deal. peace/strength/creativity/upliftment of conscious culture!
