i haven't heard cave bitch but black korea is definitely racist and i lost a lot of respect for ice cube because of it.
not that he did much from that time period to present that would make me retain any respect for him.

Ice Cube isn't the spokes person for hip hop or rap music. He is just a famous MC who sells records. There are all types of mc's blah blah blah you can't judge the music based on one rap by one artist.
Anyway its not like artists from other genre's of music have allways been so pc. Early rocknroll artists jocked early r n' b artists left and right. The beatles had bowl haircuts and would wear suits with ties so that they had a clean image for teenage girls to idolize at the request of the Record Label. And they did it while playing music that black people were playing so that the young white teenage girls would be screaming thier heads off over black guys. All while the black artists who created the genre weren't getting deals.
I cannot think of any, but there are many songs that aren't hip hop that have explicit lyrics wich are negative against all types people, creeds, genders, races, religions whatever. But I never hear people saying stuff like country music is soo bad because of a Hank Williams Junior song. People have a right not to like the musical style of hip hop. However, sometimes the things that they say tend to go too far in my opinion.
I'd tell your parents some of that. That is how I have handled some folks like that and it usually shuts them up.

^^word, this is just more about Cube who was my hero, when i was younger, and now that i listen to it as an adult im like "this is just foul"
i do feel the same way about country, and rock music. good points, yea remember when everyone was all depressed when dude from Pantera got shot or whatever, and i remember that do was very much so a bigot, yet thats not what got the attention while he was making music.
there are all kinds of double standards.

Listening to music is not what made you the man you are today. It's just entertainment. I'm sure when Cube wrote these songs he was just relating them to society. Yeah, it's messed up, but it is what it is. "Ignorance is bliss".
Good topic though. Maybe he was really painting a picture of just how evil racism is. When people see it in thier face like that, maybe they'll think twice.

yeah i don't think he was doing that, at least with black korea... tensions between blacks and koreans were pretty high at that time, and you know some people were listening to that when they were rolling on koreans..
p.s. the beatles suck. i'm sick of everybody believing otherwise.
