Topic: Please pray for this family...

Hey everyone...i just wanted to ask for you guys to pray for a family for me. Dorsey and Troy Paul...i used to babysit for them in junior high and high school. they are still very close family friends. A few of you might know them from the Melting Pot.
Anyways they have been vactioning in Florida. The older house they rented has an old small elevator between all four floor. the 4 Paul children were instructed not to go on it without an adult, but Libby, 6, and her sister Ashley, 2, decided to go on it. The interior door was not shut all the way and Libby fell three floors to the elevator bay. when her father got to her she wasnt moving or responding to him.
Libby was lift-flighted to a hospital in Savannah, GA. She is currently still in the ICU listed in stable condition. Shes in a coma but her eyes are now responding to light and dilating..which is good. She is now breathing on her own. She is still intibated and sedated. Tomorrow they will do another CAT scan to see if things are getting better or worse. she has a significant skull fracture along with bruising/bleeding but as of right now they are not doing anything to relieve the pressure to the brain. the swelling has held without increasing or reducing for the last two days. these are good signs but the doctor has said they really wont know the extent of the brain damage for another 48-72 hours.
she has a broken back in two places, also possibly a hip, shoulder. and clavicle fracture. they have her immobilized and will start to assessing the additional broken bones, etc. once they have a better handle on the brain issues.
thank you for reading this. please please pray for this family and Libby. Troy and Dorsey are completely drained right now and could use all the support. They have decided to send the two boys back with family for the time being and keep Ashley down there with them for what will probably be quite some time.

thank you all so much for your prayers and thoughts. i just got off the phone and right now her situation is still pretty much the same...they hope to be able to take her off the sedatives today....the rest is just wait and see.

first thank you all for your prayers and support. the good news is that Libby is still alive, the doctors didnt believe she would make it this far. she is not being intibated..she is breathing on her own but she is still heavily sedated due to all the pressure on her brain still. more good news is that she woke up from her coma the bad news is she has significant brain damage. how extensive and the effect it will have on her they dont really know...only time will tell but its significant. shes is still immobilized due to all her fractures and broken bones. needless to say the parents, Troy and Dorsey, are really struggling right now. Both wishing more than anything that they could just have their old lives back. They are plagued with thoughts of what could we have differently...how could we have prevented this...they are struggling and really hurting.
