Dance night at the Hangout is like a big slumber party only with pretty clothes.

Get your sexy on at the Hangout every third Saturday for the Feel Sexy dance party. Cover is $5, and Miles Bonny plays the new and old grooves that will keep you on the dance floor.
If it were a nonsmoking venue, Feel Sexy at the Hangout would be just about perfect.
But as it stands, the night dedicated to feel good music is still pretty dreamy with a playlist that includes everyone from Mary J. Blige and Jill Scott to Snoop Dogg and Beenie Man.
Every third Saturday, Miles Bonny throws Feel Sexy, a dance night for people who actually want to dance. It’s mostly ladies on the dance floor, with a few fellas getting out of their seats for a guest appearance here and there. For my girlfriends and me, it is a lot like the grown-up version of a slumber party. And we love it.
As little girls you invite all of your friends over, play their favorite songs and dance around the living room in pajamas. As grown women, we all meet up at Feel Sexy and do the same thing.
Instead of a living room, we now have a small but fun dance floor that’s lined with booth seating and feels a little like a stage. And rather than dance in our jamas, we pull out the pretty. The special-occasion dresses, frilly skirts, chic shirts, perfect-fitting denim and stilettos come out for this night (it’s our way of playing dress-up). And the best part is Miles Bonny plays the music we love to dance to.
He plays oldies, new school, hip-hop, reggae and soul. He knows how to keep a party moving — his spins include everything from the sultry “Me and Those Dreamy Eyes†by D’Angelo and “Black Sweat†by Prince to the reggae sweet “Action†by Terror Fabulous and Nadine Sutherland to throwbacks like “Now That We Found Love†by Heavy D and the Boyz.
Feel Sexy is the kind of party you could go to by yourself and still have a good time, because everyone is there to feel good. It’s also a night where you could go with your crush — yep, a dance night that you can actually take a date to and not have to worry about getting disrespected or brawling. And with a $5 cover, it’s a cheap date, too. It also makes for a great ladies night out.
Two things to be aware of: You may leave smelling like smoke, but the nicotine stench stays mostly in the bar area and rarely infects the dance floor. And if you want to open a tab, there is a $20 minimum. But that just gives you a reason to order a bottle of Champagne or treat your friends to cocktails. Whatever you order, just remember that the sexy is free.
