Patti LaBelle... Whoa!!! So what happened to that good ol' soul? It'd be dope to see these people on a new project.

No way? Alicaia Keys has some skills for real, but I'd never put her in the ranks of The Godfather of Soul. Hell no.

Keys is a great performer, but an average vocalist at best.
She's delicious though like you said JD.

Dog, an average vocalist? C'mon, she's one of the best. If you listen close you will notice that her voice carries the instrumentation she's singin over, unlike the majority. Listen??? Most studio produced albums have an equal mix of vocal and "track"... She's straight overpowerin her beats.
damn I love that girl 😳
Average? Damn! Yeah - A Womans Worth was extremely average vocals with great lyrics, but everything else is no less than 100% soul. Listen to Fallin (someone half ass sang it to me on the phone earlier)[/size:3dd3baee1a], amazing! It's not "IN YOUR FACE" but shit, it's right on time to every piece of me.

so jd, what did you think of the video, the experience that spontaneously happen? did it touch you ? in what way did you hear what alicia keys said at the end ?

The Fallin[/color:d7417410a8] video? At the end it shows the dude gettin out of jail, then it shows her face which fades and concludes the video. And just to be completely honest, she may not be on the level that I hold her, but something about her puts her on that level for me. It's just a matter of opinion.
So to answer the question, anytime I can look at her and hear her at the same time is absolutely a felt moment for me. 😀

Yeah, she's just average, but we can discuss that another time.
I don't wanna stray too far off-topic.

yeah, it's amazing! thank you for sharing. Oh yeah, I thought we were talkin about the fallin video (my fault) yes I heard what she said about following in the footsteps of her elders and continuing on with the soul. She's right. And again Patti LaBelle was off on her own thing halfway to heaven singin the way she was in there.
