I am not as familiar with his life as I wish I were. I do understand that he was a part of breakestra and the Root Down night in California. He has just passed. I'm not sure how, if anyone can fill in the background story and cirumstance, I would be interested in learning. thanks RIP Dusk

I spoke with DJ ICE on 4-30-06 and he informed me that he and Dusk were fairly close. According to Ice, Dusk was a very open hearted individual. He always reached out to others, allowing others to come and partake of whatever he was a part of. The kind of Dj, that would check on all his Dj associates and just make sure that they were doing ok, not just on some dj stuff. He was killed in a car accident. My condolences go out to all of his family and friends. He will be greatly missed. RIP Dj DUSK!!!

From: Rock A Mole Productions To: All lovers of music and and all lovers of humanity Yesterday was the 14th anniversary of the L.A. Rebellion. And yesterday, L.A. lost a great and rebellious soul, our friend and collaborator DJ Dusk. On April 29, Dusk was crossing the street when he was hit by a car and killed. We first met Dusk some years back when he was hosting the radio show The Bridge on KPFK. Most of our crew and some visitors from the Poor People's Economic Human Rights Campaign in Philadelphia were on the show and, thanks to a booking by the Pride of Baltimore (Michael Griffee), we spent an hour getting to know Dusk while we preached and partied. We spun a crazy eclectic batch of records and talked about how good they made us feel. We talked about the crime of poverty in the richest country on earth and dreamed of revolution. We made one hell of a friend in Dusk and found out that his definition of The Bridge was more than a catchphrase, it was a blueprint for a whole different kind of world. We worked together very sporadically ever since, connecting mostly by accident and occasionally by design. We did what we could to help him with his work with youth in the Mar Vista Gardens Projects. He helped us with our festivals. We talked for hours about music, especially the salsa of the classic era. Dusk would come to our parties and kind of take them over in his subtle way, casting wisdom around the room with that sly, slick, and wicked voice. Dusk would borrow an LP and never return it. He'd tell you to your face he wasn't going to. "Don't worry, I'm playing it for more people than you ever would." Dusk would expound on the connections between different kinds of music and then get up there on the ones and twos and really make the point. One unforgettable night at the Root Down he mixed Sly Stone with salsa like his life depended on it. Only part of it worked, because he took chances, but the part that did work made you glad you were alive for days afterward. Dusk had dreams. Dusk dreamed of a world where no one went homeless or hungry, where no one was brutalized or left to die without medical care. Dusk dreamed of a world where we all crossed the bridge every day and paid no tolls. Now Dusk won't be here when we, all of us, make his dreams come true. But like the great DJ he was, he will feel the crowd and know what we have done. Rest in rhythm, brother. We will never forget you. Rock A Mole Productions/Los Angeles rockamole.com more from his management firm . . . . . . . . Dj Dusk (Ajuca) Costa Rica Dusk’s influences comes from his experiences with electro-music at an early age with industrial influences from groups such as: KILLING JOKE, MINISTRY, CIRCLE OF DUST, FEAR FACTORY etc, preparing + maturing a great fusion of electronic sounds with guitars + accelerated rhythms in his head. In 1998 after coming upon by mistake what you call nowadays “PSY-TRANCE” on the famous album “WARDANCE REMIXES”by KILLING JOKE featuring remixes by: Deedrah, UX, Hallucinogen, California Sunshine, Johann Bley, MWNN, - this was what fired his passion for PSYCHEDELIC TRANCE and becoming a DJ. In 1999 he started his career as a DJ with lots of energy and hasn’t stopped since. In 2002 he started his production project in partnership with DJ Sir G called “THD” focusing in that moment on an experimental side of industrial music without leaving aside a danceable feeling especially at nighttime. What many people called them: Industrial trance with glorious doses of intense electro sounds. In 2003 they had their first album released called “RAMPAGE” with 10 heavy tracks, If there is a Genre called techno/industrial rave metal "THD" belongs exactly there because of its high attack,up-tempo, powerful dark melody lines, strong thunderous distorted slicing guitar riffs and swirling futuristic sounds with vocal phrases that stick in your head long after the song ends. To describe DJ DUSK's DJ'ing skills, first he has a particular style when mixing live: mainly 145 BPM and higher depending on the audience, he likes strong percussion and unexpected pauses, powerful psytrance instead of a noisy style. He beatmixes all the tracks with no exceptions, and he plays many tracks made by his own project “THD” very intensely throughout the whole set! Only nighttime music - very rarely will he play progressive tracks. He has shared the same stage with many important international Acts and djs such as: DARK SOHO, XENOMORPH, SHIVA CHANDRA, NEUROMOTOR, CYDONIA, STAR-X, GMS , WIZZY NOISE, D- TEK, TIM SCHULDT, FOUR CARY NUTS, MINO, EXCESS and others. At the moment DUSK and his partner are working on the studio in a second release with different concepts of PSYCHEDELIC TRANCE, and as a DJ he plays constantly in local and International parties, always keeping the PSY-TRANCE movement alive in Central America.
