Apparently...
I've been working with Netta Dogg for months and didn't know it.
I saw her everyday in passing and despite the fact that she looked familiar, I still wasn't able to place the face with the name.
Had a chance to build with her today...
We both talked about how LL ripped the stage into last night.
How we both want to be able to have that kind of live set at some point in our careers.
Feels good to break bread with other people in the scene doing it.
Find yourself running into folk either at work or in your travels around town that are in the same musical pursuit? I'm sure you do...
If you wanna share your story here's your chance.

Its funny to be out & about and run into people that have seen you perform somewhere or seen you on the web or whatever the case may be, and wheter its a fan of your work or someone who wants to work with you, it's just a good feeling to be accepted and appreciated for what you do. There's alot of talented people on this board so Im sure practically everyone here has experienced this on some level. You make music from your heart & tho it may not be made to please others, you hope that in some way it inspires others. It's just a good feeling when someone takes the time to let you know that.

This week i feel like i've been playing the "hurry up and wait" game.
I can't sell the shirts in the stores until i get the tags sewn in...but the tags won't be in for another week....so i have to re-up on the big sizes so when the tags come in they'll be ready for Blair to sew them...but then she's working on the bags...and i don't want to over work her either....eeek!
Then there is the May 4th Record Bar show....the fashion show on the 11th at Neon...but that's the same day as the Atmosphere show in KC....greeeeat...
i've been trying to find a balance with all of my projects. Lately it seems that i've been negelecting some inner circle projects in order to complete outside freelance work.
Looks like i better get back to work. I've got to put out the next WTFIT zine...
thanks for reading...

Yeah Lou,
The lady that hosted the "Day of Silence" rally at MCC said she'd seen me play in the past.
I was like, "Word?"

Funny Story...
I went to an old folks home back in January to visit my Aunt. As I was leaving, a elder man who is a resident there stops me. I had on my signature green & he asked me if I rapped. I said "Yessir". He said "You look like this fella my grandson took a picture wit a while back. He went to his room & got the pic & it was a picture of me & this guy I took a picture wit after a UKUEPTO show. He said, "All he talk bout is Lou Rip, Lou Rip!" Dude I was buggin, like this old man knows who I am...wow!!!
We talked for a little bit & as I was leaving he just kept chanting my name like I was getting ready to go out on football field or sumthin, I ran down the hall like I was coming out the tunnel..he was crackin up!!

Word, when I put out the "Crash & Grab EP" (only about 60 copies) I would randomly ask people if they had heard it. Then I'd show them a copy hoping to jog thier memory. I was happily suprised at the number of "Oh no shit, that's you." that I heard.
My all time high at this point was Scribble Jam last year. I pressed up 30 copies of the EP the year before and handed them out, and about 10-20 the next year. Anyway, I walk up to this van with my discman trying to sell the CD (beer money) and this kid puts on the headphones and starts rhyming along with my verses. I was like "Oh SHIT!!!" We talked for awhile and he told me out off the CD's he took home the previous year mine was the one that stood out to him. "Wow" is right Lou, it's an amazing feeling.

Hit the back of my head on the concrete and passed out for about 10 seconds... my kids woke me up...i forgot where i was for a sec.
Well made it home.. and everyone was tellin me i need to go to the hospital... so i did..
turns out i had a real bad concussion and shook my brain..

wow, life is crazy. its goo dto hear about every one's days. this hip hop talk sh*t gets boring.
I'm drinking red wine right now. Happy to have the weekend off. I've been working part time randomly for a few weeks and now have a morning M-F thing that feels good. I like having similar schedules to the rest of society afyer not having a regular job for months.. man mooonths. INteresting, but as always I've managed to find work that is enjoyable and life experience.
My lady just walked in to the room. We pretty much hang out and i make beats etc whenever I'm not hanging out with her. I "work" all of the time.
Lately I feel like I'm able to work hard but at my own pace, which is different from the everything-at-once method I have run on up until this point.
more later i guess..
ps- every music lopver should own an ipod or portable music device. As a tape player-in -the car guy and no - cd walkman guy, i am aperfect candidate and bit the bullet today. I know this is gonna revolutionize my days. happy happy

I'm feelin real hype right now. Earlier today I put on a play at my school. It went fant-asm-astic! Yeah, that's right, I'm one of those weird theatre kids lol. I'm also getting some photos I've taken together for my school's art show May 5th...hope that goes well.
I went to some program downtown yesterday for an apprenticeship working with local artist...but that sucked, a lot. I might just get a regular job...I'm about to graduate! Yes! Excited about that, even though I [i:d4686dcf5a]actually[/i:d4686dcf5a] enjoy going to school. And this summer people are going to hear more of my music. I freakin hate my computer right now, its being a little bia...I can't even open my production software...so no more beats for a little minute. Hopefully I get my laptop soon...I'm proud to say that I helped Jessie pass a class this semester with my inspirational beats (no lie, she told me they helped her work).
Feelin pretty good right now, although I'm really tired and hungry (I'll solve that in a minute).
VIVA LA REVOLUTION!

I really need an ipod...I've got so much music on my computer, it's ridiculous (that is [i:8a3d3afffe]not[/i:8a3d3afffe] what's messing my computer up though). I have a crappy mp3 player but need to get a new one. I'm so tired of luggin cd's around. and I need a freakin car cd player! ARGHH! I'm tired of the portable cd player-through-the-tape-deck crap! You know how many batteries I go through?!? Arghh! (again)
[still having a good day, though]

i sort of wish i would have gone to see LL, but i didn't know how much it was going to cost.
even though you could call him one of the biggest sellouts ever, he used to be king, and i'd still like to say i've seen him. anyway, good to hear the show was good, except that i wasn't there.

Hey Miles/Tilla,
I just bought my girl a Nano off of the Apple site.
It's like $150 (free shipping/free engraving).
The Nano, 1GB, holds 240 songs.
I'ma get one in like 2 weeks.
I have the same problem...

My I-pod got stolen last month. It is totally worth it to get the larger size i-pods if you travel and want to use it at shows. The small ones are nice and compact but if your going to throw down the money you might as well drop a little extra for more space. Also that video is dope. I'm excited, I'm gonna spring for the 60G video it is a lot of money but in the end is worth it unless the shit gets stolen. Having that kind of library at your fingertips is incredible though and hard to live without after having it. I recomend getting your i-pod engraved as well. It is a security thing that in case it gets stolen it can be identified. Everybody has i-pods so if you lose it or it's stolen good luck getting it back if it isn't engraved.

Yeah...
The 30GB joint is just $300.
The thing I like is that there's no shipping charge.
And the engraving part is nice...
I'm not sure which one I'm gonna get yet, but I want one bad.

It was an all around good night. Kicked it with my boy, saw T.J. Dovebelly at the record bar, went to an emo art institute party, cyphered with some new emcees, passed out on my homies couch. Woke up and watched The Ring.
