  1. Apr 10, 2006 03:24pm by KIZ
What z the deal I just wanted to put a bug in a few dj's, and collectors ears. I just got serato about a week ago, and have now started to do the pain of converting my joints over to serato. right now i'm on cd's, but in the next 2 weeks i will be moving over to vinyl. I have a ton of records that or going to be let go for the dirt. I'm not going to kill on prices as i would rather sale them to people that would really enjoy them as much as i did/do. I will try to put a list of them up as i go through them, but to give you in idea some of the joints will be from: Bronx science, Rawkus, Badboy, Loud, Interscope, aftermath, Def Jam, Sony, Hell aton of them. All of the records or in mint condition, some have never been open or played. So here is a chance to get that 12 that had that primo remix that is hard to find or is out of print. So stay tuned as the list will be coming shortly. PEACE "KIZ"

Ataxic, and Platium usess it as well. I was so against it for a while trying to still be pure, but a strange thing happens when you get older? A thing called a bad back. LOL LOL So if you were to say spin at a party you would be limited by how many crates you want to take to the gig. And most crates hold about 60-70 records, which is about 35-40 lbs a crate, and you would take about 4-5 crates which equals a bad back for doing this for years. LLOLOL but with serato you are only limited to how big your harddrive is. so in reality you can bring about 5000 songs on 20 gig hard drive. You can even scratc and do all the stuff you would wiith regular vinyl. It's a great thing i have to say, and by just knowing that you can have a song and not worry if you should bring it or not is priceless. Sorry for the long details.

So what happens if your harddrive or laptop goes bad? Whoever created serato is a mad scientist though for sure.

Whoever created serato is a mad scientist though for sure.[/quote:7fb27d5775] HA HA Yes that has crossed my mind, but here is the plan. you make back up in wave formats, and save them to dvd-r. And then after you save them to dvd-r you make a backup of the dvd-r and put them up in a safe box. the waves that you make in dvd-r you convert them to mp3 then make a copy of the mp3 to dvd-r as well so now you have double back ups of your collection. now don't get me wrong i'm not sale'n some of the more serious records i got,for example, like say "cash money cut'n to the funk" that would be a record that i would pass down to my kids. or my japan only release of run dmc rasing hell album, but i am letting some things go like J-Dee(j-dilla) remixes that he did for rawkus that i might have a few copies of. but to be honest i just want some of these to be given light to some of the collectors and DJ's that enjoy hip-hop as much as i do. but they are taken up some serious room in my house. LOL LOL PEACE

I wouldn't mind having a bed of records... someday... But keep the back ups backed up...

I know the feeling kiz. alot of stuff i have 2-5 copies of from when i worked in radio or if i traveled i saw it for cheap i would get it because i knew someone would need it one day. Having a bed, a room in kc a basement in chicago and a closet full of records is hard on the back and it sucks when you need to make room. its like over 25 years + collecting i started at the age of 3 going to the goodwills, salvation armys, sears, penny's and stores like that.
