Kansas City, MO, March 23rd, 2010: Kansas City stalwart, Reach, has a new album project which is quite the undertaking. Few artists have committed their vocals to a live recording. Not only does Reach want to add his name to a short list of artists who’ve done so, but he believes he can produce an album every bit as listenable as a standard studio recording. The taping is slated for Friday, April 23rd, 2010 at The Record Bar (1020 Westport Road). Mouth will accompany Reach as the house band for the night. Internationally-respected vocalist/pianist Reggie B will also sit in on the live session. Long time partner-in-crime, DJ Ataxic, will support Reach with a DJ set and contributing cuts/scratches. The $7 performance is restricted to those drinking-age and above and will begin at 10pm.
Reach and Mouth have formed quite the artistic bond since their initial pairing at “A Night of Live Hip Hop†in November of 2009. Their rendition of Reach’s “Radio Love†was recognized by former Pitch Music Editor Jason Harper on the weekly’s Wayward Blog (November 20th, 2009). They’ve developed impressive onstage chemistry with several subsequent shows. They’re preparing to remind everyone the third week in April for the live taping. This will be an important event both for Reach in his pursuit of following the rich tradition of the live album and for Kansas City Hip Hop.
