Hey everyone-
I'm writing today to see if you would help me put together a band profile page on KCFreePress.com, a new online news and entertainment site for Kansas City I've been working on with other local journalists, photographers and bloggers.
The band pages on KCFreePress.com will make up a larger directory of KC bands and musical artists, similar to the one on lawrence.com. They'll contain info about the group's/artist's sound, lineup and upcoming releases as well as artist-provided media such as photos and songs to stream on the site. The idea is to give local music fans a place to check out KC groups and find out about upcoming shows. We'll also be pulling from these for our "band of the week" feature on the music section homepage as well.
If you're up for helping us put together a profile for your band or solo project, any of the following you can provide us with would be great:
* Basic Info (name, website, members + instruments, short description, year + place formed)
* Media (photos and any mp3s you'd like to have included in the profile -- artist retains 100% of the rights for content they provide)
* Updates (information about upcoming shows and releases)
Band profile information can be sent to [email protected]. We'll be live on the web @ kcfreepress.com after Dec. 8.
Also, feel free to stop by our launch party at the Czar Bar on Wednesday, Dec. 9 from 6 to 9 p.m. DJs, stickers, drinks, etc. Should be a good time.
Thanks in advance for your help! We'd really like for you to have a presence in our music section, and please pass this on to any other local groups or artists you'd like to see represented as well.
