don't believe me? we got video of it (Demencha exclusive)
One of our beat writers for Demencha got a video interview with Hi-Tek and Talib after their show with Steddy P a couple of weeks ago. It's taken me forever to get it up on demencha.com...but it's up there as of five minutes ago. At the end of the interview (which is at the bottom of the post), Talib breaks out into "Kansas City (Here I Come)." No lie.
Plus, there's a review of the show, pictures, and an interview with Steddy P wherein he speaks on his label, Indyground Entertainment, how he got the gig opening up for Reflection Eternal, and other things.

For the record:
"Kansas City" is far from the only song that identifies the town in name.
It's merely the most prolific.
The song's been covered by The Beatles, Little Richard, James Brown and hundreds of other artists. That's why it's Kansas City's most identifiable song. It's no different than "New York, New York". Just very well traveled and has a rich history behind it.
