doubt it man, for that kind of dough, you should just invest in better mic. I would say its a better investment in the long term. Most of the dudes who record that frequent this site will charge you $40 an hour, if they don't know you, or aren't familiar with your music.

That's the way to go. I mean, good luck either way, but there are some pretty decent mics in the $200-$500 range. Lasts longer than the 8-20 hours it'd get you in a studio.
Still 20 hours in a studio could be a whole album, so its a toss-up I guess.

i would record and mix down 2 songs for 100$. given it didnt take 50 takes per verse.
