Topic: Larry Johnson wants out *crosses fingers*

The Chiefs are in the process of changing general managers. Carl Peterson is now out, and chairman Clark Hunt will soon be hiring his replacement.
The two will then decide on whether coach Herm Edwards is retained. But Johnson said he wants out regardless of what other changes the Chiefs might make.
“It’s the environment,†he said. “It’s got everything to do with the environment. It’s what everybody needs. The city is tired of me. The organization has kind of run its course (for him). It’s time to move on regardless of what kind of changes they could make. I’ve been here when they made other changes. It’s just time to let go.â€
at least he knows we're tired of him...now we just have to pray that someone will buy out his enormous contract which is just as unlikely as him averaging more than 2.5 yards per carry next year....

They need to get some kind of compensation for him.
I think we could maybe swing a 3rd Round pick.
That would help.

honestly...id rather see him not play than play...even if we are payin him...hes not helping at all...our back ups average more yards per carry...ill pay him to leave...
and its strange...ive never met the dude or anything like that but i really cant stand him...ive just heard sooo many stories about what a douche bag he is and it bothers the shit out of me...i wouldnt care if he was having his best season of his career this year...i still wouldnt like him and dont want him representing our city...
but i sincerely do hope that someone is dumb enough to think that hes still worth something...i would be surprised if he has another season any better than this one

I feel your pain, but I think just letting him walk is a horrible personnel decision. He's still got gas and he could very well go to a division rival, namely Denver, and be a thorn in your side for the next 3-4 years. They can't afford to just let him walk. They have to force another team to give us a 4th Round pick at the very least as compensation. And honestly I'd really be pushing for a #3.

I'm almost certain he'll have a breakout season the moment he puts on a different uniform. It'll be easy to live with though because he was underachieving here and had a shit ton of baggage.
It's hard to get over losing Jared Allen.
Because it brought with it the worst pass rush in the history of the NFL.
And... We realize that if we'd given LJ's contract to Allen... We'd be in great shape!
They always give the big contract to the wrong guy.
Years ago they had a choice between Eric Warfield and possible Hall of Fame candidate Donnie Edwards. They gave 28 milly to Warfield and Donnie went off to San Diego.
Warfield didn't stay long after he got that contract.
Just like LJ's soon to be gone.
