CREATIVE CAPITAL PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORSKHOP FOR ARTISTS
Creative Capital Foundation will conduct its third Professional Development for Artists Retreat in Kansas City, March 27-29, 2009. See http://pd.creative-capital.org for a description. Applications are due December 10, 2008 at 5 p.m. An application for the retreat can be downloaded at the icon on the left.
This is a free and incredible opportunity for artists to learn from other artists about the business side of your practice...marketing/fundraising/public relations/strategic planning. You spend so much time on your artistic practice - you deserve and need to make the most of it with more effective business practices. Learn simple and practical tools from other national artists without compromising your art or your principles!!
This retreat is free for those chosen - and is geared toward "generative" artists - those artists (from music, theatre, dance, film/video and visual fields) who are creating and presenting new work. To a person, artists thought the experience was remarkable - transformational for many.
The Creative Capital Retreat is jointly presented by the Arts Council of Metropolitan Kansas City, Charlotte Street Foundation and Mid-America Arts Alliance with generous major funding from Karen McCarthy Charitable Fund; additional funding from Lighton Fund; accommodations provided by Downtown Marriott Hotel; transportation courtesy of Midwest Airlines.
